its F#@%ING stupid from Nintendo not including the charger in the 1st place in the New 3DS line .
I bought my autistic son the new Pikachu 3DS XL for his birthday, and to my surprise, it did not come with a charger. I ended up buying two of these chargers; one for the new 3DS XL, and one for the older “original” 3DS unit owned by one of my other children.
The chargers I received are almost identical to the ones sold in local stores. How do I know? I ended up having to buy one more charger for my third child (another original 3DS owner) and I compared the chargers. Both chargers measure roughly 6 feet in length, with the ones purchased from Amazon being roughly an inch shorter than the one purchased from WM. Both chargers manufactured in China and have the same statistics/codes. WAP-002(USA), Class 2 power supply:E1246654J04, Input: AC110v, 60Hz, 7W, and Output: DC4.6V, 900mA. I did notice a different code on the back of the charger, but all three chargers had a different code so my guess is that it is some type of identification number to each unit. The only other differences I noticed were the circumference of the protective band (to keep the cord from kinking) on the bottom of the cord on the one I purchased from WM was slightly larger than the one purchased from Amazon. The other differences are purely cosmetic and do not affect the unit itself, two tiny indentations on the plastic port (one on each unit just different locations).
I paid the same amount of money for all three chargers with the exception being tax from the one purchased from the local store. All three chargers seem to be equally effective in performance. For comparison, the charger marked “N” is one purchased from Amazon, and the charger marked “K” is one purchased locally from WM.
The cord is also long enough that I imagine it will be easy to play my 3DS while it charges.
The quality is nice, it doesn't feel cheap but it's not premium. The cable didn't peeled in this 3 years with a very rought use. The product is resistance cause it fell from a 2 meters distance and do nothing, it works perfectly. Comes in a box with a tiny paper with instructions that help almost nothing.
I give to it a 9/10 cause I have to buy another one and it doesn't come with the console. Smart move, Nintendo.
It does charge the unit.
