Product Description
The Nintendo 3DS is the first of it's kind in handheld 3D gaming. But if you're like us, and you want that familiar feel of the console controller, you'll need the Hand Grip for Nintendo 3DS from CTA Digital. With extended use, handheld systems can tire and cramp your hands, shortening the gaming experience. With the Hand Grip for Nintendo 3DS this is not an issue. Whether you're racing cars or playing your favorite first person shooter, the added comfort will help you maneuver your way through games with precision. When you need to rest your hands from all the intense gaming, you can prop up the handgrip by using the integrated stand. The handgrip stand has 3 angles and also features an SD slot to hold a spare SD card. So with the Hand Grip for Nintendo 3DS you can enjoy the feeling of a console controller, and check out your 3D pictures while the grip rests securely in the stand.

I don't know about other grips, but since this is the one that should be in question for this review, it is one hell of a grip to use. I used to feel cramp and pains from having to hold my 3DS in an odd clawing posture with my fingers because that's the only thing that felt most comfortable when trying to access all the buttons, but this hand grip immediately helped lessen that, thanks to giving me something more curved/round to hold, rather than an alienating flat surface when compared to console controllers.
Thankfully the 3DS gets stuck in there real good (and it's also easy to pop it back out, even if I personally didn't know how at first and was worried of damaging the grip and my system when trying to figure it out), so it shouldn't be falling off easily at all, or even wobbling around while you're playing. Every single button (and the earphone jack), are indeed perfectly accessible and comfortable to reach even with the added shapes you have to hold on to, which is great. I have to say that it did feel extremely awkward to use on my first day, especially when playing Super Smash Bros. for 3DS at a fast pace. I couldn't play the same for a while, but between my second and third days of using it (and onwards), I already feel right at home with this grip and my usual skill and gameplay is as good as its ever been.
On a last note, as a player that mostly gets digital copies of 3DS games from the eShop, I -as of writing this review- own 2 SD cards that I alternate between, since I have different games in each card that I don't have downloaded in the other. The little extra slot that's built into the stand for SD cards is a blessing for me, and while I'm at it, the stand is also great too. Makes browsing the eShop and playing games that don't require the use of buttons a lot better when it's just the user tapping the touch screen while the 3DS is sitting at whatever angle you want to have it in.
All in all, solid product overall, if not near perfect, honestly. Would recommend to the manufacturers that they include a short instruction/guide on how to remove the 3DS from the grip efficiently, as I'm sure I'm not the only one that spent a while trying to figure out how to get it back out without damaging anything on accident. A bit odd to get used to at first, but it does its job in the long run, which is what really matters here.
I went with the CTA grip because of other reviews here on Amazon, and I will be the first to admit. I now wish that I had never disliked these types of things.
This grip really makes the 3DS feel more comfortable in my hands. It kind of reminds me of the feel of the original fat Xbox controllers, which were one of my favorite controller designs of all time. I now can play for extended periods of time without my fingers hurting. In fact, tonight I drained the battery on my 3DS without any pain or discomfort in my hands, which I hadn't been able to do before the grip. For the record, I wear size large gloves. I have large hands, so the device fits me really well.
It's built really well, holds the 3DS perfectly, and doesn't even look bad on the device. Overall, I'm VERY happy with the product. It's awesome. I also really like that CTA is responding to some of the reviews. A company that responds to reviews on a website, in my opinion, is showing that they care what consumers think of their products. I will be looking for more CTA products in the future.
With that said, and I'm not going to let these things hold back my five star rating...I do have a couple of suggestions.
First, CTA seems to sell many different products on Amazon. Let's get some Amazon Frustration Free Packaging going instead of the blister packages. Not a big deal, but I wanted to mention it.
Second, the 3DS grip has a slot on the bottom of it to store an SD card, but it looks like it may be large enough to hold an actual 3DS game if it were reworked just a tad bit. I think it would be more convenient for the grip to hold an extra game instead of an extra SD card.
But like I said, those are just minor suggestions to an otherwise great product!!
Highly recommended.

Recomendado*****
Headphone jack, stylus and all the switches and controls are accessible except the SD card slot.
easy to attach or detach, and makes game play more comfortable.
Slightly not happy with how the center section is built as your fingers feel the cracks at the back, but overall, 9/10 for the price.
