I have been on the fence about the 3DS ever since I heard about it. It looked cool, and hearing about Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and StarFox 64 being remade for the new platform made it more appealing, but I still wasn't sure. When I found out that there was going to be a Legend of Zelda limited edition 3DS coming out on Black Friday, that sold me. Let me tell you first: Nintendo went all-out for the Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary, and this system is a spectacular homage to a legendary title. At first, I thought it was just going to be a black 3DS with a nice Zelda design on the top lid. When I opened it, much to my surprise, I found that there was a lot of detail work that was done. First of all, the back is accented with gold trim and a very dark gold back; fitting very nicely with the Zelda them. Upon opening it, the 3D sliding switch and all of the system's lettering are gold, which looks very nice and contrasts nicely with the black. The controls feel solid, buttons firmly in place, and the control stick feels like a joystick, not like the PSP's control stick. Internally, the system is very slick and nice to look at. Overall, the 3DS design is very nice and something any collector would get his/her hands on.

As for the OS, the menu system and settings are very intuitive, exactly what you would expect from Nintendo. When you start up the system, you register yourself, make a profile for your system, and go through the settings and parental control settings; customizing them for your preferences. (Parents: I strongly recommend doing this yourself before you hand over the system to your child. The 3DS has a built-in web-browser and a myriad of options. There is even a 3D setting you can control if you do not want your child to game in 3D, which is recommended for children 7+.

I got mine during the black friday this year. I've been reluctant to get 3DS when it first came out, even after the price drop to $169. But when I saw this limited edition bundle, oh boy I glad I waited. At first I thought the reason why this bundle is black with gold markings is because Nintendo has more Cosmo black in stock (because its sales were behind the blue and red consoles, which you can check at Amazon 3DS best seller). But when I opened the box and see the console myself, I was wrong. The slot where you put the game cartridge is all gold (unlike the regular console which is silver), and all the buttons have gold accent font, and lastly, at the bottom, the logo and everything written in gold. I really love this console and for those of you who haven't own a 3DS, and thinking of getting one, this bundle will be perfect for you (if you like playing Zelda). But if Zelda is not your cup of tea, then I suggest getting the Mario red bundle or the Nintendogs pink 3DS bundle that will be release in US on December 4. I know Amazon LLC doesnt sell this bundle for its official price $199, but as I write this review, gamestop still selling this bundle for $199.

This is my first handheld game system since my Nintendo Gameboy, and HOLY TOAST am I glad I couldn't resist. The Legend of Zelda graphics on the system itself are quality - not some weird decal that is going to scratch off. I couldn't be happier with how it looks, and it just gets better the more I do anything with it.

I was hesitant to purchase a 3DS at first because of negative things I'd heard about the 3D. I'm glad I disregarded these reviews, because I have absolutely no problem with the 3D, and to the contrary, I actually am pretty impressed with this feature. The sliding bar allows you to set the 3D at a level that is comfortable for you, so as not to strain your eyes, and you have the option of turning it off completely if you want, too.

I am addicted to the SpotPass and StreetPass features. I actually carry a purse now because I cannot leave the house anymore unless I have my 3DS and have it turned on in case any SpotPass data is downloaded into my system or I happen by anyone else with their StreetPass turned on - finding new Miis in my Plaza when I get home is a new small pleasure in my life.

I love that the 3DS can connect to WiFi. One of the first things I did was access the Nintendo eShop and download the Netflix app. The selection of games available for download is aces, too. I love that I can play some of the classic games on the 3DS - I'm a sucker for nostalgia sometimes, and I get a real kick out of being able to once again play games that I loved as a child. The backwards compatibility with DSi and DS cartridges is a plus, as well, since there are already huge game libraries out there for those particular systems.

I waited and waited until this new Zelda 3DS was released to jump aboard the 3D bandwagon and I am simply glad I waited.
This Black and Gold limited edition zelda 3DS system is beautiful to look at. The Zelda game that comes free with the bundle is AMAZING.
I love Zelda. I have played all of them and this 3D version is a total blast to play.
I waited over 8 hours to pick it up. And the best buy store was soldout within 10minutes. I guess they did not make very many of these systems as it seems everyone is sold out and won't get anymore instock. My brother wants one for himself but can't find them anywhere to buy. If you are lucky enough to find one. BUY IT. Don't think! Just buy it right now!
