How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

I was expecting a scrached screen, a dirty 3ds or some obvious problem but there is no problem to be found yet. It almost looks new despite a TINY dirt stain on the front but other than that it's great. Works well and came a whole week sooner than the estimated date. My seller was very nice and helpful. Shoutout to Stauffer's Video Game Museum! I will probably write an update in a few months but overall I'm a satisfied customer!

My grandson liked the Yoshi 3DS XL, but I think he was a little disappointed. I read multiple reviews that stated it would include the original box. It didn't, so it was obviously a 2nd hand unit. The price was good, and it seems to work well. It is also in very good condition, as stated. I just wish I'd had the box. It's important to a kiddo.

I still love my 3DS to this day, the only thing I have a problem with is that the screen feels like it's loose. It has two positions that it can open to but sometimes it feels like it wobbles between the two. It has done that since the day I got it so I'm not sure if it was made that way or if mine just happened to be somewhat defective, but it doesn't affect gameplay and didn't get that way from use. Initially, I think the battery was decent but these days it wouldn't be considered long-lasting at all. The neon green Yoshi design is just way too cute, I'm obsessed.

I've had my 3DS for about 2 weeks now. This is the newest Nintendo console purchase I have had in a long time, and it did not disappoint. I wanted a green 3DS XL, and having one with Yoshi is a huge bonus for me. I have always been a Yoshi fan. As for the color itself, the color seen on the box image and even Nintendo's website is not the green shade it actually is. Be sure to go to other reviews here or on YouTube to see it unboxed. It is a more bold green than what's pictured. I am also happy compared to some that the image on the front and back are different and not a continuous picture (like the Pikachu model). I would rather flip it over to see a different image than have to open it all the way to see the wonderfulness.
Also, I was very pleased with the 3D slider. I have never been a fan of 3D, and initially believed that I wouldn't use it at all. However, with the intensity slider, I can set it at the level I am comfortable with; I do enjoy experiencing the features I paid for.
It is indeed very sturdy, somewhat heavier than I would have guessed. It is the XL version, after all. Some people don't like the loud snap that happens as you open the 3DS to the "openness" desired, but it doesn't bother me. It also doesn't bother me that the lid is not firmly snapped open. If you shake the 3DS, the screen will wobble with the movement. I do not have any games currently that require me to use the tilt-motion controls. The screen not locked in place could prove annoying in that situation.
I often use headphones to hear those crisp Nintendo sounds, but when I first plugged in, I thought the port was damaged. After some Googling, I found that I simply wasn't plugging in and pressing hard enough until the definitive *snap sound happened. Call me a pushover, but I was careful about being rough with my expensive new device.
Choosing to buy the 3DS at all is one decision, and then which model is another. I didn't consider it until I went online and looked at the games available; "Are there enough games I like to justify the purchase? How's the price?" Then, the model's appearance is just personal preference. I am very excited about my 3DS, and Yoshi was the perfect choice for me. It took some contemplation when comparing to the Zelda model.
My only complaint is that the Yoshi Green Egg box it came in was damaged in shipping. That's garbage; I am not a collector, but I intended to keep the box to help keep 3DS-related documents and things together. I also just liked how it looked. Of course, the shipping company is to blame, not Amazon or Nintendo. The interior cardboard allowed the 3DS to arrive unscathed, even if the box is in an unimpressive state.
My accessories that I will be reviewing elsewhere:
Nintendo 3DS XL Duraflexi Protector - Clear
HORI Nintendo 3DS XL Hard Pouch - Black
Everydaysource Compatible With Nintendo 3DS XL Clear Reusable Screen Cover, 5-Pack
In short, all satisfied purchases!

I paid 400 dollars for this to only work for three months I can't return because it's been over thirty days. With my son being Autistic it's very hard for him to understand why he can't play it or why I can't fix it who ever sells this things should let the buyer know that this particular device has problems I can't take it anywhere to get it fixed because I tried no-one can fix it. These devices should not be this high when it won't even last a year. I wish I could get my money back. Better yet get my son from crying & asking about it everyday & all-day

This is the cutest and best 3DS XL "edition" you can buy. The Link edition looks great, and even comes with the free game, but how can you ignore such an adorable and lovely "skin?" I'm a Toad fan myself, but when I saw this I knew I just had to get it, even if it didn't come with Yoshi's Island(boo for Nintendo). Even when the gray Mario/Luigi version went on sale for $150 last Thanksgiving, I was waiting for this one. But it simply never went on any discount runs. When I couldn't wait any longer - the Mario/Luigi one went on sale at Best Buy for $180 recently, and I already had Link, Bravely Default, and a few Shin Megami Tensei games waiting - I thought I was going to succumb and buy it, because I couldn't find this Yoshi edition for around $200 anymore. Luckily, one of the Marketplace sellers came through, and I could no longer resist.
It's a lovely bright lime green, matte-textured so virtually fingerprint-proof. This is an instant collector's item you should not miss, even if just to hold and resell one day in the future on an episode of "Galaxy Pawn Stars."
*Turn the 3DS over on the backside for a lovely surprise. :)

Littlest brother has not stopped playing with this since Xmas. I don't care for the 3-d, but he seems to use it only occasionally, Such as for Gym Leaders in Pokemon Alpha Sapphire! He recommends to use the 3D feature in SmashBros! But, for the price it should come with the Yoshi Theme. But instead you have to buy it! >:( He was really upset about the FlipNote Studio 3D not being on the system! There is no way to find it or download it! Really Nintendo? You can buy similar programs but non of them are like the old FlipNote!

I was on the fence about purchasing this unit, but Amazon had a very nice $40-off sale, so I snapped it up.
Pros:
- Big freaking XL screen, reduces 3D strain. Very, very nice to look at.
- Matte finish on the bottom screen, means I can eat doritos, pep n' cheds, or popcorn while playing and not smudge it up
- Cute as a ding-dong case: Yoshi runnin' around with his little eggs and a bright green finish.. if this 3DS had cheeks I'd pinch them.
- Big unit that lets my fat fingers glide with easy over the controls
- I look totally awesome playing it on the bus; everyone wants to be my friend and talk about Yoshi
Cons:
- Doesn't make Yoshi sounds when I open the case (ie. "PEE-PEW") so I have to make my own
- Doesn't make Yoshi sounds when the 3ds is running out of battery power (ie. "BAO") so I have to make my own
- Mother 3 isn't in the eShop yet

Nintendo 3DS Yoshi
Reviewed in Canada on August 16, 2014
Over 6 hours of battery life when playing Pokemon Y with 3D as well as WiFi disabled. The 3D feature isn't meant to be used for extended periods of time, anyway, as it can be particularly exhausting for our eyes.
There are regular system updates that can be downloaded over an internet connection, and a bundle of features and apps. It's as thought this goes a wee bit beyond merely a gaming system. Look it up on Google if you'd like to know more.
The Yoshi version does NOT come with a bundled game; this is simply for aesthetics or for fan/collection purposes.
The screen brightness does not fare well in bright sunlight, so don't plan on using it outdoors in clear weather.

The classic Super Mario World Yoshi design hit me directly in the nostalgia! The 3DS itself is like any other XL edition of the 3DS - easy to hold, fairly light weight, and generally easy to stow away in a bag.
