Wow what a scam. The item arrived broken, dirty and missing the controls. The power cord is in an unsafe state being held together by electric tape. It's going back tomorrow

The Nintendo Entertainment System brought the world out of the gaming crash of 1983 and is considered by many older game players to be the best home console of all time. I'm of the mind that this is a console that nobody calling themselves a 'gamer' should be without. This is the launch-pad where Mario, Samus, Link and, many other great characters were introduced to the world. It may look a little out of date but it takes up less space than the Xbox360 and, Playstation 3. The controller is also greatly simplified compared to today's standards, utilizing a single command cross (or control pad), 2 action buttons ('a' and 'b') and, a start-and-select button. Despite the simplicity of the control scheme for most games, Nintendo games are thought to be the most challenging to play. Games such as Ninja Gaiden, Zelda 2 and, Punch-Out for example have beaten many hardened gamers since their release.
Graphically, the Nintendo has not aged well at all. The number of available colors and, number of colors that can be displayed translate into games that look blocky with simple backgrounds. Use of one's imagination will greatly help of course and the Nintendo is more robust than older consoles like the Atari 2600 or, the Atari 7800. The Nintendo is unable to utilize stereo sound as well and while the sound quality can be poor at times there are many iconic sounds and, tunes that made their debut on the Nintendo console. Be warned when purchasing a Nintendo Entertainment System as they are somewhat sensitive and may be in need of repair. Most of the time all you may need to do is blow on the cartridges you play with and/or into the console itself. If problems persist cotton-swabs and q-tips may also help. In some cases, you may need to completely replace the system's 72-pin, which creates a hard connection between the console and game cartridge.
Honestly, there are many games on the Nintendo Entertainment System that have since been re-released on the Gameboy Advance, Nintendo 3-Shop, Nintendo Virtual Console and, other online services. Owning a Nintendo Entertainment System is not required to play certain classic titles such as Ninja Gaiden or, Final Fantasy. That being said however, a true collector would rather own the physical system and games. The nostalgic feelings and memories associated with owning a Nintendo Entertainment System can be very powerful indeed. If you consider yourself a game collector than you owe it to yourself to add the Nintendo Entertainment System to your collection. If you are a gamer who wants to play harder-to-find games like Dragon Warrior or, Monster Party, buying the NES is the only way to go. Play with Power: Nintendo Power.

Last Christmas, my father ordered a refurbished Nintendo Entertainment System as a fun change of pace form of entertainment. This product is perfect for those of you seeking a nostalgic walk down memory lane to a time when gaming was the new craze. After cleaning and testing it out with the Duck Hunt/Mario Bros. cartridge, I was taken aback by the quality of the system. The features you can review below include:
• Main Console
• Controller/Toy Gun
• Sound Quality
• Graphics
Main Console and Controller Quality
Upon first glance, you will notice that this console looks very sharp. The console itself is of adequate size and shape and takes up little space on your desk or entertainment center. If you are a gamer who preferred a different classic, you can swap cartridges with ease as the inner mechanism inside allows for easy ejection and insertion. The button ports allow a snug fit with the corresponding controllers.
If you choose to play Duck Hunt, the controller of choice is the orange toy gun. The gun is amazingly accurate as its reads the location of the ducks on the screen. You can also flawlessly navigate the levels of Mario Bros. by using the D-pad controllers. Though these resilient controllers show signs of age, they respond quickly and accurately to your actions and allow for stellar gameplay.
Sound Quality and Graphics
No matter which game you choose, you will be pleased with the sound quality which is an exciting blast from the past. Whether you get your kicks from hearing the stomping of Goombas, saving of Princess Peach, or working on your target practice in Duck Hunt, you will feel like a kid again as you are greeted by the classic Nintendo sheet music through the clear audio mechanisms.
As you can see below, following Super Mario’s every leap and bound as well as tracking down those fast-flying ducks is a breeze with the exceptional graphics of this console. The simply designed pictures are reminiscent of the way gaming used to be and have a way of reintroducing the gamer to the good old days.
The remarkable physical upkeep as well as the great sound and graphics reflects the durability of this console when its taken care of and refurbished. This product has kept many gamers happy for years and will continue to entertain you and your family or friends for many years to come. For those of you missing the arcade days or looking for a retro adventure to embark on, this is the game console for you!

My NES had no significant problems just a few scuffs and was like how it said when I ordered it I just had to take a rag and wipe off the scuffs and dirt and Viola it was clean, only having a bit of yellowing which also can be taken care of by searching how to get rid of NES's yellowing on YouTube. It said it was guaranteed to work and it did for the most part ,what I mean by that is the fact that it may take a few tries for it to read your games because it still has the lockout chip Enabled (you can tell if it is by if the red light blinks and games aren't registering very easy) ,BUT do not let that scare you away the NES's lockout chip can be disabled and it is as easy as finding a Philips head screwdriver and a computer, (also with many guides on how to do it on YouTube its worth spending two minutes to do so) TRUST ME its much easier than it looks just don't be intimidated by the insides of it and after removing the metal shell be very gentle removing just the led by itself and not the 72- pin connector. Over all this is something that I'd recommend Buying if it is fully working and for a low price.
P.S. If the system says it needs a new 72 pin connecter you can find it on amazon as well and it is pretty easy to install as well , because you can find a simple easy guide on the internet. I Recommend That You should buy this system if you can because it is enjoyable to play as well as frustrating in the good fun way with all video games and their systems.

Does not turn on!

Console arrived and looked to be in good condition, I carefully plugged everything in but when I went to press the on button, nothing happened. No red light, no noise, no sign that the system was getting any power.
I used the cables that were included with the console and did various tests, but could not get it to work. I am very disappointed that the seller did not even try turning the console on before selling it to me.

A bit disappointed

Although I expected to received used goods in good working order I discovered that the RF TV adapter does not work and also came with wrong AC power adapter.( Needed to be a NES adapter not a SNES adapter)
Lucky for me I had a spare adapter and RCA cables so I was able to power up the unit. However the connection for the game cartridge to pins is very loose and poor..
I will find a way to make connectivity issue better though..
I really should have only paid $40 for this sale not $100
