Nintendo needs to bring more non-XL models

Finally a New 3DS that actually fits in your pocket... because apparently Nintendo forgot that many people actually plan on taking their 3DS with them without a carrying bag or parachute pants or cargo pant/shorts, ehh you get it, with the XL you need giant pockets or nothing fits... except for this.

Really I have no idea why they don't sell these more easily, the smaller 3DS is personally much better than the XL, the fact it has a smaller screen also helps pixel density, and I can finally confirm after owning a New 3DS XL, the games do look better on the smaller screen, because on the bigger one they look more blurred du to less pixel density... also did I mention this one actually fits in your pocket? Because yes it does and thats probably one of my favorite things, aside from that the faceplates are awesome, and its the only White 3DS you can buy in the US, because for some unknown reason Nintendo loves to keep the the white consoles only in Japan or Europe, and the 3DS having region locks (Still hoping for a change) doesn't help at all.

So you want one? Stuck with a original 3DS and want something that actually fits in your pocket, with better performance, face plates, c-stick (actually a nub or something) or maybe you have a XL 3DS and want something smaller... well than you should probably try and find one of these because even the latest 2DS XL is well... XL only as of right now, and it also doesn't fit in your pocket... and good luck trying to shove an entire Switch in your pockets (they joycons fit but not the switch).

The console doesn’t work

after having some problems to receive the package when I could finally test the console it doesn't work it freezes like after 30
seconds when I torn it on and some red lines appear along the screen so I can not play any game, definitely a bad purchase I don’t recommend it.

If you can get it for $100, it's my favorite 3DS

I know a lot of people are mad because Nintendo didn't seem to ship enough of these. And I think that's stupid too. But as far as a New 3DS goes, I really love this white system. It looks even nicer in person that it looks on the cover. From the cover, I thought the design was drawn on in a slightly darker shade of grey. But it's actually etched or embossed in the cover! The fact that the only color is the buttons and the colors follow the Eurpean/Japanese SNES colors is a great touch. It's the cheapest 3DS I've bought and I think it's the nicest looking!

Being a New 3DS, it's faster than the regular 3DS. Some games take advantage and some don't--but even the menus are faster! There are other advantages to the New 3DS. It has face tracking so it doesn't lose the 3D feature as easily. There's an extra joystick nib on the right side. You can also change faceplates but I'm never going to change these. The screens are about 17% bigger than the old 3DS but the same resolution. (thanks KriegsMrn for pointing this out!)

The rest is the same as the old 3DS. It plays all your old 3DS and DS games. The only exclusive for the New 3DS is Xenoblade chronicles. There are many 3DS games that get better framerates on the new 3DS. And there is one game, Hyrule Warriors, that I think should have been a New 3DS exclusive because it plays pretty crummy on a normal 3DS/2DS.

Note that it doesn't come with a power adapter, but it uses the same power adapter as the old 3DS. The official Nintendo ones are $15 but there are other brands. I bought some USB to 3DS cords and that solved my charging problem since I already have a multi-USB charger at my bed and in my car.

Overall, the new 3DS is nice, but not an absolutely necessary upgrade to the regular 3DS. But, if you can get this for $100, it's definitely worth it! I wish they would drop the price of all regular size New 3DS systems to $100. I think it would sell a lot better and make better sense for how old the hardware line is no matter what improvements there are.

I love the new design and finally being able to find the new small version was great. I just wish amazon wouldn't have cancelled two more that I ordered during black Friday. I ordered four, one for me, one for my son, and two for nephews. At least my son and I got our two. I don't know why Nintendo isn't making these again, they are beautiful and even if not at the original $99 price they would sell. Maybe they wild bring them back.

I was lucky enough to grab one of each color before Thanksgiving, and while Amazon certainly flubbed the launch some, it made for a great Christmas morning for my family. It's smaller than the XL, which I stepped down from, but the smaller screen size hasn't bothered me at all, and the white and black plates look fantastic, understated enough not to stand out but full of great Super Mario characters upon closer look (though I think the black one looks a bit better). The stylus is undersized, and unscrewing the back plate to install a reasonable MicroSD card is a bit of a pain, but once it's up and running, everything works great. A nice bonus is how some games run and load better. The most noticeable difference among games I own has turned out to be Streetpass Mii Plaza games, which now run buttery smooth.

Nice texture & it looks fun. Though clearly much smaller, I don't miss my XL's bigger screen while playing this.

I love this console. This size feels good too, and is more comfortable to carry around. I have big hands, but it's not much different from playing on an XL, though my hands cramp after a while. I prefer the texture a lot too over the New XL. Feels good even if my palms get sweaty, as opposed to when using the New 3DS XL model. Though my New 3DS XL feels HUGE by comparison, I don't feel like I'm missing out at all while playing on the smaller version.

compact and easy to use

Small, compact and easy to use. I showed it to my nieces and nephews that range in age from 4-9 and they loved it! The battery life on it is pretty awesome, it can handle hours of gameplay and when you're not using it, there will be battery after a couple of days of no use. And the 3-D is really cool, it takes some time to get used to it but after a couple uses with it on your eyes adjust and just enjoy it. I'd definitely recommend this product for all ages over about 5, otherwise the controls are most likely a little too complicated for most games. And Nintendo makes great games for the whole family.

So I bought this through the Amazon warehouse deals and I was bit nervous. Cause sometimes you may get a product that's damaged in some way, but I lucked out! So obviously I changed the default cover plates, but the originals that came with the system were in near perfect condition. The system works perfectly and someone had left a 16 gb micro SD card in mine so I had enough room to move over my games and save data. And everything is an improvement over the original black 3ds system I had upgraded from. So if you're in the market for an upgrade try the Amazon warehouse deal, you may get lucky!

Love this platform. This fits better in small hands compared to the non-folding 2DS, even though the 2DS is sufficient in every other way and used units are priced far better. I loath the branding. Appending "the new" to a product to serve as the official name for a product that looks near identical on the outside and is very different inside is exceptionally foolish branding. Try searching for prices or info for "the new 3DS" and you get hits for old 3DS that are in new condition or were (at the time of publish) new.

Grandson loved it. This was the perfect gift for Christmas. However it does not come with a charger. I didn't know weathr to laugh or cry when my grandson asked " didn't you read it?" When the battery died Christmas Day we had to wait till the stores opened the next day to use it. I would of bought a charger if I knew. Make it more obvious for grandmas like me.

Bought Used in "Very Good" condition and looks great! The engraved plates make this look really luxurious. The only issue I would have with a 3DS is the feel it has on the hands, as it is a bit small (especially compared to the 3DS XL models) but I only really play for an hour at a time so its not a big deal. If you ever wanted the New Nintendo 3DS, this is a great buy!
