I looked and looked and even if I found certain recordings they were increasingly costly. I was reminded of the many Time-Life advertisements of a series of hits of the sixties that suggested such an endeavor as mentioned would indeed be nearly cost-prohibitive. I found this out when I was looking for a Walter Brennan recording called "Old Rivers".I even to this very point regret paying some $79.00 for two discs of Walter Brennan recordings. This indeed was one of those told you so points. Time-Life doesn't, as a rule, offer some of the recordings that I have been looking for, but buyers beware of these types of purchases can be a costly purchase. It was a surprise and a pleasant surprise at that, that when I looked at the index I can only say this was a surprise and a very pleasant surprise indeed. I had gone to the Lorne Greene website and like the Walter Brennan recordings, I looked and looked with several instances not allowing for the index to be revealed. The particular recording of Lorne Greene that I was very interested in was "Ringo".I found it not and was not very happy about the chances of locating this particular song. This particular recording shows "Ringo" Index Number 13. I was very much aware of just how good and valuable the recording made by SSGT Barry Sadler-U.S. Army Special Forces, "Ballad of The Green Berets" however I had not even got close to looking for it because this looking for these songs was getting too expensive."The Ballad of The Green Berets" showed an index number of 14."Like every medium of communication in the-60's, popular music was full of the debate on the war of VietNam.SSgt Barry Sadler hit an astonishingly responsive nerve with this earnest defense of the men fighting that war on the other side of the World. It sold over a million copies in its first two weeks of release, spent five of its thirteen weeks on the charts at #1, and was Billboard magazine's top record of 1966." Another case in point was the very excellent, even beautiful song called "My Cup Runneth Over" recorded by Ed Ames. I purchased two of Ed Ames recordings which were two albums rolled up into one so that I purchased 4 albums put on two CDs.It was a good purchase that is listed at No.15.There are several songs on this particular disc that is great to listen to, even today.EVERYBODY'S TALKIN-BY NILSON Index:19 and No.18 Lets Get Together by The Youngbloods.No.20 is an Elvis Presley hit called "SUSPICIOUS MINDS'.If you know the time these songs should be a welcome listen, they are to me and were a very excellent surprise to find these particular mentions as they were listed. I recalled The "Hugo Montenegro" recording of "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly"(original composition by Ennio Morricone) which sought to take advantage of the appeal of the motion picture film under the same name. Index No.16. I would like to mention one song that I had never heard until I first played this CD, it is a charmer, listen to "The Old Lamplighter" by "The Browns"(Charles Tobias/Nat Simon). Many liked a song, Index No.17 called "In The Year 2525" by Zager and Evans. This purchase was a most welcome surprise with another surprise being just how useful and even informative the Liner Notes are. Nipper's "Greatest Hits"- The '60s Volume 2 is an excellent purchase.

This is a very good mixture of hits by different artists and the price is very reasonable.
