Personally I don’t think this is the “best rice ever”, however, it is pretty great. When cooked appropriately it has a slightly stick (not mushy) texture and is soft to chew. I like this brand when accompanying it with a stir fry or such, when I don’t necessarily want tougher rice such as jasmine or basmati (which I love don’t get me wrong but only when I’m cooking the rice with spices). This particular brand has been my go to when I want a plain white rice that is good at absorbing sauces. For those who are wondering, I still cook it like my regular rice, which means I add some salt and some oil to make it not too sticky. The water ratio they recommended seems like a lot but when you let it soak as instructed, the rice puffs up and it passes the finger test to check the water level. If you’re curious to try a new rice I’d recommend this because even the price is reasonable.

I frequent the asian markets often and can confirm that the price on Amazon is on par! This is a great deal especially if asian markets are not as accessible in your area. In my opinion this is the best rice to make sushi and sticky rice at home.

The packaging could be improved. It comes with a resealable sticker, but you have to cut it open. I usually transport it into an airtight container to keep it fresh.

I was looking for semi sticky rice and this is perfect for me. Somehow (and this just may be only me) this rice holds seasoning/flavorings better. I don't rinse this rice before cooking it. I followed the instructions on the bag, 1 1/2 cup rice to 2 cups water or your liquid of choice. I have basmati and jasmine rice as well as this one but this will always be my go to!

Once you've lived in Asia as long as I have, then return to America, it becomes hard to find rice that tastes good. Most brands sold are inferior. The best rice in the US is grown locally, in California. This brand tastes somewhat close to the ones in East Asia. It is quite passable and it is easy to pick up with your chopsticks.

A friend told me about this rice a few years ago. One try and I don’t want to go back to any other rice. This stuff is fantastic. It’s sushi rice. So, that means it’s a bit sticky. I like that. Beyond that, the flavor of this rice is great. You could eat it plain. It’s also not overpowering, so the rice will pick up the flavor of a sauce if you want. Just really good stuff. If you feel like you are a rice connoisseur, you owe it to yourself to try it at least once.
