Do not waste your money on this one! The Dirt Band performs well, like they always do, but the video quality is terrible. The first thing you'll notice is that the video quality meets or falls below VHS tape quality. It is very fuzzy. The sound quality is okay. The extras are not worth commenting on -- if you pay to see the NGDB, then that is what should be on the disc, not two former country stars. Whoever wrote the text on the back of the DVD jacket should learn more about the NGDB before writing about them. There are glaring mistakes on the cover text itself.

Most important reason not to waste your money on this one --- it is simply an old concert from 1986's "Church Street Station" on the former Nashville Network, live from Orlando, Florida. You can find this concert on DVD in the $5.50 dump bins at Wal-Mart where I found it. They fail to mention and/or lie about the source of the video. It is honestly nothing new. Again, I don't attribute any of this to the Band itself because they didn't put out the product.

MVDvisual, who put out this worthless product, will be hearing from me. When you issue a product without telling that it is a previously released concert that was available for less than HALF the price of the new DVD, you are not selling an honest product. Had they included mention of "Church Street Station" in the text on the package, I would not have opened it and thus -- I am stuck with it.

A MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT.

This is a rip-off. Only "Mr. Bojangles" is the closest song to anything resembling a "greatest hit" on this DVD. There are barely eight NGDB (mediocre) performances here, with songs like "Dance Little Jean" and "Randy Lynn Scruggs Rag" being absolute throwaways. "Partners Brothers Friends" is a song to mark, they say, twenty years of the group's staying together. There are other artist fillers included -- two forgettable songs by Stella Parton and two by Gus Harding == that simply add a few minutes to the brief collection.

The editing is lousy, the "bonuses" are fuzzy ads for what appear to be other DVDS by second or third tier rock performers. Packaging this as "Greatest Hits Live" is unfair to this great group. Think carefully about purchasing this disappointment.

This VHS tape is called The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band - Twebty Years of Dirt.It says at the top of the box "Video Hit Series",
so this does not include every music video of theirs, just the music videos that became hits even though "Fishing' in the Dirt" and "Mr. Bonjangles" that we're also video hits in their time, yet this VHS tape came out in 1991 so any music videos after 1991 that they did would not be on it anyways, yet it still holds up as a great set of music videos.

The VHS tape track list:

Long Hard Road(Live Performance from TNN's show "New Country)
Face on the Cutting Room Floor(Live Performance from TNN's show "New Country)
High Horse(Live Performance from Austin City Limits)
Telluride(Music Video)
Modern Day Romance(Music Video) was released in 1985
Partners,Brothers and Friends(Music Video) was released in 1986
"I've Been Lookin'"(Music Video) was released in 1988

Here is a list of every music video that the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band has done with the dates to go with them:
1981 "Fire in the Sky"
1985 "Modern Day Romance" Gary Amelon
1986 "Partners, Brothers and Friends" Gary Gutierrez
1987 "Fishin' in the Dark"
1988 "I've Been Lookin'"
1989 "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" Bill Pope
1989. "When It's Gone" Joanne Gardner
1990 "You Made Life Good Again"
1990. "The Rest of the Dream" Joanne Gardner
1991 "Mr. Bojangles" (live) Gerry Wenner
1991 "Cadillac Ranch" (live)
