CREATED FOR FAMILIES BY FAMILIES
Founder and CEO, Mark Palfreeman created Nixplay in 2013, as a way for families to stay privately connected wherever they may be. Being a Dad of two, with family spread across the world, Mark saw a need, not only in his own family but in others too. Far-away Grandparents who long for daily news of their Grandkids. Newlyweds wanting to share their new life with families, or college kids who want the comfort of updates from home. We all long to be in touch with our loved ones.
More than 2.5 million frames later, Nixplay has become the no.1 selling digital photo frame. Why? Because we are uncompromising and obsessed with four things: Design, Functionality, Security, and Sustainability.

FWIW, customer support has been excellent up to this point! Highly recommended.
The frames are very intuitive but this time I wanted to give one as a gift to my 90 year old father that was already full of pictures but also wanted him to be able to control it after the gift was given. I didn't know how to do this but the tech support from Nixplay was incredible. Tom helped me set it up with clear directions and stayed with me until I was able to do it. The service was incredible. Not only was I able to get through to them easily but
Tom talked me carefully through each step. I would highly recommend this as a gift to yourself as well as those you love. Thanks TOM!
The single deal-breaker was revealed only after a couple weeks of use, and only because I was looking at my Nixplay account on my computer and not in the smartphone app. I had uploaded LESS THAN 200 PHOTOS, but I was shocked to see that I was already using HALF of my allotted frame capacity! That couldn’t be right — could it? With literally thousands and thousands of photos I wanted to share, I was concerned!
Digging deeper revealed the terrible truth about Nixplay: The frame only has 8 GB of physical storage and THERE IS NO WAY TO INCREASE THAT. Worse yet, this fact is not revealed anywhere that I could find scouring the product listing. Literally every other digital photo frame I had looked at has the capability to increase storage space via SD cards or USB thumb drives — but not Nixplay! This is such a standard feature across the board that I just did not notice its absence in all the Nixplay product descriptions. I felt like I had just paid for my new Cadillac, and then found out that the gas tank wasn’t included.
And, finally, here’s the reason for all this: You can get plenty of online storage and create multiple albums to swap out on that tiny 8 GB storage space, BUT IT’S NOT FREE. Yep, the ultimate goal of this entire setup seems to be to force you to sign up for “Nixplay Plus”, a paid monthly service that you will need to keep up forever as long as you own your frame.
The incredibly high price of this frame becomes apparent once you understand the marketing strategy that it uses. Most subscription-based marketing plans will offer you hardware for free or at cost — think free cell phone when you sign up for a two year service plan — and make money off the service that you have to sign up for. Nixplay gets you at both ends, almost forcing you to sign up for a paid plan but also charging a premium for the hardware up front. Just compare the cost of this frame to a full-blown laptop: For about the same price I can get a name brand laptop with a bigger 15-inch screen, full-blown operating system (capable of running a variety of photo slideshow programs), DVD drive, and 500 GB hard drive — literally 60 times more storage space than this photo frame. Seldom have I felt so taken advantage of.
So, why the many great reviews? I think it’s from customers who are right where I was at just before I realized I was already running out of storage after only two weeks. They’ve been driving their great new Cadillac for a few days, having a grand time, unaware that their 1-gallon gas tank is about to run out.
Eventually after much more research I bought the Pix-Star 15 Inch Wi-Fi Cloud Digital Photo Frame. This photo frame is bigger, much cheaper, has a great picture, and supports external storage media without having to pay for an online storage plan. I’ve been using this frame for months now and love it.
Having an option — rather than almost being forced — to subscribe to a service plan would have made me happy to keep this Nixplay frame. As it is, I cannot give a higher review score than one star for a product whose INTENDED functionality forced me to return it. Buy this product if you wish, but be aware that you may never be done paying for it.

I had an awful experience with Nixplay. I bought one of these for my mother 3 years ago as a Christmas present. She lives on the other side of the country, and being a bit older and a little tech-challenged, she was unable to set up the device on her own. The next time I went out to visit her, I pulled out the Nixplay and tried to do it myself, but the device just wouldn’t work. I couldn’t get it to load past the initial set up screen, and customer service was unable to help. My next visit to my mother’s house was to help her pack to move to her new home. During this trip, I came across the Nixplay device again, packed away unused in the hall closet. This time, I packed it in my bag and took it home with me to figure out. Customer service was again no help. Every time I called, I went through the same motions of trying to reset the frame but without success. I finally took the device out one more time last week to give it one more try. After 45 minutes on the phone with customer service, they finally escalated the problem to a supervisor. I got an email this morning from them telling me that the warranty on my device had expired, but they were happy to offer me a 30% off coupon for my next Nixplay purchase. How thoughtful! I’m going to the electronics recycling facility next Saturday. I’ll let you figure out the rest.
DO NOT BUY NIXPLAY! THIS COMPANY DOES NOT STAND BY ITS PRODUCT!

nixplay sagt dazu:
'Please note that photos from your social media accounts will not be dynamically synced. As you add new photos to your social accounts, you will need to select and subsequently add them to your Nixplay playlists...'

Pro:
- Gut gemachter, wertiger Rahmen
- Gute Bildqualität
- Einmal eingerichtet, funktioniert das Übertragen on Bildern hervorragend

It's perfect as an easy solution for uploading photos to a frame in your own house - or for another relative
I live away from most of my relatives and it's a great way to keep updated and in touch
Really easy to set up and use
To set up initially you have to be in the same room and have wifi
Once set up you can be hundreds of miles away and submit photos easily
There is no cost yet but there does seem to be an subscription option if you use up the cloud server allocated space
I've got three to four 15 second (the Max) videos and maybe 50 photos uploaded and only using 1% of the free space so far though
