BUT THIS! I knew from the moment I began following Teri Turner, aka @nocrumbsleft on Instagram, that if she ever published a cookbook, it would be worth the investment. I was SO RIGHT!
Teri makes cooking approachable, doable, and enjoyable for every type of cook—seasoned to novice. Her step-by-step instructions are clear, concise, and you can sense her cheering you on, coaching you to success as you work your way through the recipes.
Her food is so delicious it could make it possible for you to complete a Whole30, if that's a goal of yours. I wish I'd had this cookbook when I did mine 7 years ago!
There are everyday and special occasion recipes in this almost 300-page labor of love, but what I think will change your daily dining is her Magic Elixirs™! They take anything you put them on to the next level! My recommendation? Start with the Pistachio Pesto. I confess to eating it with a spoon from the jar.
Congrats, Teri! This is quite the accomplishment! Enjoy the moment. You've given us SO MUCH.
The recipes are never intimidating, always delicious and the photography is luscious. This one won’t just be hanging out in the kitchen. It’s a beautiful book to curl up with a mug of tea and read the stories behind the food.
If you love food, just buy this fabulous book. You’re going to love it.
If convenience is your need, I would note that there are some ingredients used that you might not have around the house. And in my opinion, if speed and ease are your needs, some of the recipes lean towards someone who is looking to spend some time in the kitchen. My sister, who leads a much busier life than myself, looked at a few of the recipes I shared with her and commented that they looked beautiful and tasty, however she felt totally overwhelmed by the multi- portion recipes that include making the main recipe plus "magic elixers" and dressings. I've enjoyed adding this book to my whole30 recipe books because I find the recipes and flavors unique to other whole30 books I own.
I’m so pleased with Teri’s recipe decisions in this book. I often wondered—what KIND of book would she even write? Her style is not just Whole30 or Paleo or gluten free. But this gives us a bit of everything! Enough Whole30 to garner the endorsement (for good reason), others that are gluten free, family favorites that are none of the above. She’s bridges the gap between folks with particular goals or restrictions and dishes anyone would enjoy. Proving the point: GOOD FOOD IS GOOD FOOD. Congratulations, Teri, on this gem and thank you for this wonderful gift to your fans! ❤️
This book filled with great ideas, tips and recipes for cooking homemade, healthy meals, without eating the same chicken, sweet potato, and broccoli dish day after day. Sprinkled through the book are "Teri's Tips" which help capture her years of culinary experience and can help guide the most novice of cooks in preparing a successful meal. Never once have I been disappointed by a Teri Turner recipe; her recipes are always a crowd favorite! Our family favorites are the Marinated Red Onions, Gomasio, Shrimp Pad Thai, Bavarian Pot Roast, and the Iowa Spice Rub Pork Roast. Her "Building Blocks" and "Magic Elixers" should not be overlooked and will take your cooking to the next level!
