Reading the first section "The Will To Be" with chapter headings of Aligned, Aware and Accountable - I kept talking back to my Kindle, with phrases such as "yes" and "exactly!" I felt energized by reading such an accurate description of a system of beliefs and behaviors I have held, yet, perhaps not read so fully expressed before.
In the second section "The Eyes to See," I think every leader will appreciate Marlene's viewpoint on Course Correction. At some time, we will realize we have headed in the wrong direction, perhaps inadvertently or maybe "bull-headedly" - either way the enlightened leader takes stock and chooses to course correct.
For me, the bottom line of Marlene's writing in this book, is the valuing of, listening to, and empowering of people. Accountability matters. Communication matters. Engagement matters. We all know this but Marlene ties it all together with great clarity.
