The four short stories in this book are titled, Dedication, Brother and Sister, The Minute Man, and Not Here.
Brother and Sister is the one I want White to make into a novel. I want to know why the step mother was going to harvest their organs, under what circumstances they woke up in a bathtub of ice, and how they got mixed up with the Mob, what was Ingrid's "stash"? And that's just the first page! How did she know about the strange things that would happen in "The Witch's Stool" liquor store or who might own it? Why didn't her brother guess? Why did she let him buy anything from there? So many questions and just a short story.
Not Here is an interesting sci-fi concept but the blatant reference to the Holocaust left me feeling flat. I think, as readers, we can make those leaps all by ourselves. In all of the turmoil of the invasion, however, she left us with a little glimmer of hope. That stated, I would have liked for this story to be longer. Not necessarily a novel, but filled in a bit more. Some background and character development would have helped me get more rooted in the story.
The other two stories didn't resonate with me as much but if you're a short story fanatic, you may enjoy them more than I did.

Quite a Science Fiction delight.
I've been to Ireland and the Cliffs of Moher, so the first story
brought back the beauty of that adventure for me.
Only 4 stories, you might think? But honestly "Less is sometimes More"
I recommend this book highly!
