I enjoyed Jeanette Murray's style of writing in this book. Her dialogue was fun and her characters were quirky. It was mostly a nice little Christmas story, but it did have a bit more going on below the surface with the two characters' problems. I found it to be a nice balance altogether.
I found Dan's issues to feel a bit more "real" than Anna's--her self-imposed moratorium on dating just felt a bit extreme. Never having personally had major health issues like that, though, it could be that her reactions were indeed spot-on; but they felt slightly forced, which kind of had me rolling my eyes a bit at her continued denial of a relationship with Dan. Dan's turnaround was a bit quick, but 1) it is a novella, so space is limited and 2) it wasn't so much so that it was unbelievable, so ultimately it didn't really bother me.
Overall, this was a quick, fun read that put me in the holiday spirit. I'll definitely add this author to my "must find more books from" list.
This sweetly written contemporary romance keeps you laughing the whole way through. I liked how Ms. Murray handles both Anna and Dan’s background stories, making the readers sympathize with the characters while still getting into the holiday spirit of it all! Together I found Anna and Dan to be a great pair. Plus their sex scenes were just steamy enough to keep a reader engrossed while leaving their relationship believable enough that you were rooting for them from beginning to end!
My only wish was that the ending could have been less rushed through, yet overall I DO recommend this novel to those looking for a slightly erotic sweet Christmas romance!

Ever since he lost his parents in a car accident on Christmas Day, Dan Beckins is a regular Grinch. When he is tricked by his friend Geoff into working on Santa's Workshop at a local children's hospital, he grumbles and complains, but he grudgingly fulfills his charitable obligation. That is until he meets the delectably sexy Anna Smith.
Full of Christmas cheer, Anna Smith happily organizes the yearly event at the children's hospital where she was once a patient. She has a feisty attitude and runs the operation with an iron fist. Beating cancer as a teenager, she has recently undergone another cancer scare. Anna might be steering clear of relationships until she is sure her cancer is not going to recur, but she is definitely on board with a fling with Dan. At least until she begins to have feelings for the handsome lawyer.
I absolutely loved the relationship between Dan and Anna. Both are carrying the scars of their respective pasts, but together they work to overcome their fears. Neither character changes dramatically over night, rather, they undergo a gradual transformation. Anna is key in helping Dan realize Christmas should be celebrated instead of ignored. But Anna stubbornly clings to her decision to avoid a serious relationship until a discussion with her brother opens her eyes to why she continually pushes men away.
Jeanette Murray's No Mistletoe Required is an entertaining and engaging romance. If you are looking for a fast read that is guaranteed to put a smile on your face and give you the warm fuzzies, then you are going to love this fabulous holiday story.
