B. J. Thompson

About the Author

B. J. Thompson was born in the Lake Country district of southernOntario, Canada, to an RCMP Constable father and Industrial Accountantmother, an only child, who grew up very Anglo-Saxon, very NorthernIrish. Funeral wakes were like Olympic events, her first one at agethree; hence, Death and the Past are recurring themes throughout herbooks, novellas, blogs (one such forensic site on the crimes of theManson Family) short stories and online articles.

B.J. went on to graduate from a Degree in Language Arts with post-graduate work inPublic Relations and Marketing, primarily working in the Travel andBroadcasting sectors. Retired now, she leads an avant-garde writersgroup likened on the 1920s Montparnasse style and pens literary novelscentring on edgy, rather taboo topics.

Her favoured way to tell a tale is through the Non-Fiction Novel approach; whereby, iconic persons and/or milestone moments in the Past are tweaked and warped ever soslightly to reveal an answer to a long-held mystery or a societalquestion, folding in fictional characters and locales to more colour the story and give it a rich feel and vibrant atmosphere, to better weavethe fantasy within the reality.

B.J. is not pop-cultural norcommercial in her approach to her life or her work as an author. Shecertainly walks to the beat of a different drummer, but the noise shemakes is lasting, the ripple effect, or shall we say the "tremor", wellfelt.
