Editorial Reviews

Review

"I had never read a book by this author, but be assured I will be reading more. She keeps things interesting and knows how to write. I loved her bio at the end. The book is well worth taking time to read."

"I really enjoyed this quick, quirky, suspenseful story. Just goes to show you don't have to have explicit sex scenes to write a good book. I loved it and will be looking for more Jackie Weger."

"Very sweet. Her characters are very real. Her heroines are normal people, totally relatable. Her heroes are real heroes, which makes the book an awesome read. I totally recommend it!"

From the Author

We all have busy lives in our fast-paced world, so I want to thank readers and fans for taking time to read my novels and posting reviews or simply ticking those reviews you agree with. You are kind beyond measure and I appreciate you so much. Please do visit my Amazon author page and follow me and you will never miss a new release. Amazon will send you a note to let you know. Here's a head's up: Once I get my act together, and get minor flaws in the books cleaned up, I always discount my new releases. Of course, if you are a Kindle Unlimited subscriber, my books are always read FREE with KU. Here is another head's up: I am as ordinary as toast. I am sometimes blessed with all good things in life and at other times, suffer dreadful calamity. Like many of you, I muddle through. It is what we women do. I absolutely love writing romance novels. It is the single place in my life that I can determine the outcome.
Wishing you all good things in life.
Best,
Jackie Weger

The first book I read by this author was "No Perfect Secret" that I got from BookBub as a freebie. I was so impressed that I ended up buying three more of her books. Every one of those have been really great stories, and this one is no exception.

Leah and her two children have been on the run from both hyer husband, and a past that wants nothing more than to forget. Where she had been wrongly accused of embezzlement at a insurance company. She was innocent of course, and even took a lie detector test to prove it. But as luck would have it, she failed the test. Her husband and everyone else thought she was guilty, and rather than go to jail, she opted to pay back the funds. After that her husband divorces her and then threatens to take her children away, so she packs up her kids and hits the road. Now here she is a few years later, and she's being accused of the same things all over again. And just like before...she is innocent, but this time she decides to stay and fight. Will she be charged with the same crime, again, or will she be able to prove her innocence?

Detective Leo Garvey is hired to look into the matter. I thought he was a little off beat in the beginning, and I wasn't sure I liked him at all. However, as the story goes on and you get to know him more, he turns out to be a really great guy.

I also loved little Nelson and Sally. Sally is so innocent, probably because she is so young, and really has no idea of happened in the past, But Nelson did, and he's grown up faster than any child should ever have to. At seven years old, he's always looking for odd jobs so he can help his mother with the bills, not that she will take his mother, because she has no intentions of ever doing that.

Another great story written by this author. Leah and her children started a new life after she was accused of embezzling funds from her prior employer. Starting over is hard enough, but she finds history repeating itself after she is again accused at her new company. Detective Leo Garvey seems to believe her, or is he trying to trap her? Can she race against the clock to prove her innocence?

I first discovered Jackie as an author with "No Perfect Secret" and totally enjoyed it. So when she released "No perfect destiny" I bought it right off the bat. Just took me a while to read and review it with my TBR list being what it is. Anyhow needless to say I absolutely loved it. The story deals with Leah who has had her previous life snatched away from her thanks to an incorrect accusation leveled against her by her own Mother- in-law and ex husband. Now she faces another charge at her new work place for misappropriating funds.
Enter Detective Leo Garvey the investigating officer who first decides she is the criminal, and then discovers that its just not possible. he also falls in love with her, protesting all the way considering that she was a complication and he liked his life fine just the way it was. In order to clear her name he needs to get some fast work done as the owner of the company wants to sell it off.
Does Leah get to clear her name and keep the job? or will she have to relocate once again? Find out when you read this book.

This is a nice story about love gone wrong and finding love gone right. It's a nice vacation from hectic thrill seeking novels. It's about nice people who have been wronged and are trying to put their lives back together. It's about love coming when and where you least expect it and the joy that grows from letting go of old patterns and allowing love to embrace you when you don't trust it and don't trust yourself to make a good choice. An excellent story, well told and worth a read. If you like simple romance between a good man and woman, this is it.

No Perfect Destiny is the story of Leah Spencer, a normal single mother of two adorable kids except as normal as she looks, nothing is commonplace about her starting from her secret past to her attempts at trying to be a wall flower. When Leah is accused of embezzlement of funds, her already complicated life gets more complicated with the arrival of the quirky and yet dashing Detective Leo Garvey who both irritates and attracts her.

What will happen to Leah?
Will she be able to lay low and come out unscathed from this difficulty or will her past finally catch up with her?
Is Leo the man she has been waiting for all her life?

As is the case with Jackie's books, this one too is a feel good romance with realistic characters who are flawed and yet so connectable that I felt like I already knew them!

The cover is interesting and combined with the intriguing title, guarantee of the author's name to give a great story and engaging blurb, this book had me captivated enough to pick it up to read.

I read this book the first time as part of an anthology called the Hearts & Kisses that contains 12 full length novels from 12 Best selling authors and absolutley loved it. I reread it again just recently and had to share the review separately with you.

The plot is simple and yet layers are added to add to the suspense and mystery of the story. Jackie's writing style is simple and yet engaging and she makes the scenes, scenarios and emotions realistic and makes the reader invested in the story. I felt like everything was happening to someone close to my heart and found myself sitting at the edge of my seat in anticipation of events to come, all the time praying for a happy ending to the till now struggle filled life of Leah.
