In a nutshell, Olivia Anderson and 3 y/o daughter Chloe are on the run from her senator ex-husband when Olivia has no recourse but to attempt to kidnap ex-Special Forces, Shane Mitchell. More curious than threatened, Shane soon reverses their roles and discovers Olivia to be exactly who he would have hold him hostage.
After a series of attempts to keep Olivia under his thumb, the Senator makes more than a few errors in judgment...especially when Shane pulls in a couple of his own men to assess and resolve the situation.
But the call of the heart cannot be denied and the growth of the romance between Shane and Olivia is both well written and riveting.
I'm hoping for more in the Harmony series (another helping of Brody, please) as well as a spin off series of Shane's security company because both Vik and Striker deserve their own HEA!
I know I won't be the only one watching for more stories from Michelle Howard!
However, the editing was really really not good. There are many foolish errors, for ex, passed for past, due for do, to for two (or too), and so on. It was jarring to have to stop and rethink her sentence structure, and pulled me right out of the story to fix it. Someone needs to give it a proof read before it gets published! Especially since I liked the overall book, characters, plot, and such. Just one proof read. Please.
Her next book (Honor Bound) had errors, but not as many. (I recommend it as well.)
