Most spills occur tipping a normal can to get the spout into the tank opening before the liquid comes out, or removing the spout from the target vessel before overflowing. The No-Spill spout is fully user controlled so you tip the can vertical, insert the spout into the vessel opening, then press the button to begin and control pouring. To stop pouring simply release the button. Practically eliminates spills and overflows. The only Spill-Proof spout with thumb button control that does not push down on your tank's filler neck to pour. More control, fewer tip-overs of your small equipment. The fastest pouring Spill-Proof nozzle available. At up to 3 gal/min, compare to other brands at 1.5 to 2.0 gal/min. Autostop removable nozzle, single opening for filling & pouring, treated can body for low permeation. Fills equipment without the need to press down on the tank opening. 6-inch Flex Spout Extension (sold separately) allows filling of on-road vehicles, boats and many other hard to reach tank openings. No-Spill Gasoline cans are tested and certified to ASTM F-85299 Standard Specification for Portable Gasoline Containers for Consumer Use and our Diesel & Kerosene cans are tested and certified to ASTM F-97602 Standard Specification for Portable Kerosene and Diesel Containers for Consumer Use.

Update: Almost a year later and this can looks like new. I even bought the No-Spill Gas Can 1 1/4gal. for my 2-stroke gas/oil mixture. Awesome sauce.
For years I used the old metal gas can with a rubber nozzle and rubber stopper. It wasn't all that easy to use- the stopper could be hard to pry out especially in cold weather. Also, it was very easy to pour too much gas into the gas tank.
When the nozzle broke I couldn't find the old metal can. Indeed, the only kind of can was the plastic ones with the green sleeve that you have to twist to "unlock" the nozzle, then press that nozzle onto the edge of the gas can to dispense gas.
What rocket scientist invented those??? The green twisty (of several different brands) was hard to use and I had a few of those break. The pressing the nozzle aspect was also awkward and frequently led to spilling gas all over.
Then I got wind of the No-Spill and my gas dispensing life changed. It simply does what it's supposed to, easily and effectively. What a concept!
Put the nozzle into the tank and pinch the tabs-- gas comes out and stops coming out when the tank is full. It's fast and easy and no gas pours all over the equipment. I have one for straight gas, but I'll be buying a second one for gas/oil mix for my 2 cycle devices.
"No-Spill" says it all. I personally like the 2.5 Gallon vs. 5 Gallon model as it keeps my gas more fresh having to refill it more often; plus it's not as heavy as a full 5 Gallon model. However, I'm certain both models have the same No-Spill spout.
It keeps gas off my equipment and in the tank where it's supposed to go.
I personally removed the safety catch with wire cutters for convenience, but I wouldn't advise this; it's just my preference.
REMEMBER to remove spout cover before dispensing the petrol.
The button activator did not have too much spring tension on my thumb which is good, and still maintained the No-Spill action.
With the myriad of gas cans out there that make you twist spout, turn, push, leak, etc... this is the best can I've used in years.
