Removed white shadows/haze/weird water patterns

I've tried a hundred items to get this weird white shadow off my windshield. I could see it when it was foggy out and see it when raining, every time my wipers passed. Especially hard to see at night with light shining against it. It was a white haze that took 15+ seconds to mostly disappear after each wiper pass. On foggy days it was there permanently and light made it impossible to see. It was a white fog in which i could see clear spots and patterns where water had been. (never completely went away if it was wet out/humid/foggy). It was dangerous. I tried dawn soap. Purple power. 0000 steel wool. Wax and tar stripper. Invisible glass. Nothing worked. Did two applications of this by direction but I didn't scrub very hard or for long. Let it sit for a few minutes. Then rinsed it off as advised and then cleaned the white powdery residue off with just a clean wet cloth and water. My windshield is now crystal clear and the white haze and spots are 100% gone. Amazing stuff.

This stuff actually will remove Rain X haze although it takes some work and multiple applications. Its unusual odor prompted me to check the ingredients: Three abrasives: ALUMINUM OXIDE, CALCINED DIATOMACEOUS EARTH, and SILICON DIOXIDE, and the others: WATER, DISTILLATES (PETROLEUM), ETHYLENE GLYCOL, and BENZENESULFONIC ACID, act as solvents or carriers. There are more efficient silicone solvents available for industry, but this seems to be the only effective and readily available consumer product. Its a bit pricey, but it works. If you appreciate clean streak free, haze free glass, this stuff is the bees knees. One caveat: You may notice more pitting in the glass because the waxes, silicones and other films are not filling the pits. However, overall clarity, will be improved. This clarity results in less glare which is especially helpful for night driving.

Solid. Not a panacea...

I admittedly have some really tough hard water stains on my truck windows. Nothing has been able to get them off. And I've tried a lot. When I used this product by hand it got the surface contaminants out. It did not do anything for the for the hard water stains though. Then I used the product with a high-speed buffer and a small pad. It definitely dulled the hard water marks. It did not fully remove them however. The trouble with using the buffer is that it sprays the product on to other parts of the car. You really need to have the hot soapy water ready to go to clean this stuff off of your vehicle when you use it. You may even need to wash the windows twice aggressively. I'll give it 3 stars because it did do some good. Especially when nothing else seemed to help.

I have spent two years and perhaps 100 hours and hundreds of dollars trying all the myth ways to remove that *&^%$ product Rain X and Fog X from the wonderful (otherwise) used Toyota Highlander I purchased. That terrible product smears a short time after application, and it seems that every used car seller or dealer thinks that it makes them money to smear it all over all the windows, inside and out... to make you buy their cars.

I was about to get rid of the car... nearly ruined the windshield using 3 M pads recommended by one website. THIS IS THE ONLY PRODUCT THAT REMOVES RAIN X, BAR NONE, AND YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO COMPLETELY STRIP YOUR WINDSHIELD WITH JUST A BIT OF ELBOW GREASE TO A MIRROR SMOOTH AND CLEAN SURFACE IN ABOUT AN HOUR.

Here are just a few that do not work, including Soft Scrub which Rain X says will work: Soft Scrub and Bon Ami, both recommended by Rain X (I spent at least five hours attempting to get the stuff off each of those and didn't dent it) Barkeepers friend (the other negative poster here is absolutely wrong for rain X... maybe for easy to remove goop.. but not RAIN X) Lacquer thinner, rubbing alcohol, mineral spirits, lighter fluid, baking soda paste... vinegar, ammonia... you name it. JUST NO TOUCH GLASS STRIPPER WORKS!!

You use it with a slightly damp cloth or paper towel just like car polish.. and then rinse it off with a lot of water. There is a very fine powdery residue that you are rinsing off... I am guessing that the cleaning agent is a jewelers rouge of just the right fineness to cut without scratching... and boy does it work! A small amount of fine white powder remained after first rinse.. and was all washed away with more water. I will next do the interior that was ruined with Fog X.. and will have to put towels in place and rinse with a very damp sponge.

I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to have gotten rid of that sorry **** Rain X. Thanks No Touch!!!!!

Awesome . Just awesome . Took everything off the glass .. this product should be in every auto parts store and wall Mart across the country . Got rain x on windshield and can't get it off . This is what you need .. haze on windshield when raining at night and hard to see while driving. This will make it all better .. I swear I tried everything you can Think of . Nothing worked... I had a haze on my new 2018 cars windshield, it could have been from prep from the dealer to make it "shiny" or from clear coat wash at the car wash or both. The kind that from refraction makes seeing a mess at night in the rain, it was terrible!
Tried a bunch of things that didn't work, then started looking for wax solvents and this came up. Tried glass cleaner, clay bar and glass cleaner, citrus degreaser, 0000 steel wool and glass cleaner. I didn't want a nuclear option on a new windshield.
No worry about leaning into it and scrubbing the glass, this was gentle while i could see it removing the film. (I scratched a windshield up with an abrasive pad when I was younger so I wanted to be careful).
This absolutely gets down past the film and to the glass, 100% effective.

Photos show a 50/50 of the wind shield half cleaned and half not cleaned. The uncleaned half is what showed when you got the glass wet. Second one shows both sides cleaned with the product.
