Noah Chases the Wind Hardcover – Picture Book, April 14, 2015
Purchase options and add-ons
Winner of the Gelett Burgess Children's Book Award
Noah knew he was different. He could see things that others couldn't, like the patterns in the dust that floated down on sunbeams.
Noah is different. He sees, hears, feels, and thinks in ways that other people don't always understand, and he asks a lot of questions along the way. Noah loves science, especially the weather. His books usually provide him with the answers he needs, until one day, there's one question they don't answerand that is where Noah's windy adventure begins.
Filled with rich, sweeping illustrations, this picture book celebrates the inquisitive nature of all children, including those on the autism spectrum, who cannot stop asking a question until an answer has been unearthed.
The book contains a page of information for parents, caregivers, and educators about the importance of helping children feel good about their differences and know that being different is okay.

Editorial Reviews
Review
"Noah has endless curiosity about how and why things work. . . . Cowman's gusty wisps show each stream of air turning a different jewel tone, swirling all around. . . . Worthington's sensitive exploration leaves readers with their own set of questions and perhaps gratitude for all types of perspectives.
An invitation to wonder, imagine and look at everything (humans included) in a new way. "
Kirkus Review
Noah Chases the Wind is about a little boy who has autism. Noah knows he is different. He acts, feels, and sees things differently than other kids. Noah likes to learn about new things and he wants to know where the wind goes. Noah decided he can find out where the wind goes if he chases the wind. The wind goes around the town. Then the wind picks Noah up and flies him high above the clouds. Noah learns where the wind goes.
I really loved Noah Chases the Wind. It reminds me of one of my friend who looks like Noah. He learns things a bit differently and also has autism. I am seven years old and am able to read this book on my own. The illustrations are great. The pictures are soft, colorful, and detailed. I liked going back and looking at the pictures. I loved the way the illustrator drew the wind. I wish we could really fly with the wind like Noah does.Jewel, Age 7, San Francisco Book Review

- Reviewed in the United States on April 19, 2019They loved this little story. Especially the child named Noah in my class. Though the other kids were getting annoyed at when he kept say 'I did that' 'that was me!' LOL. They drew their favorite part. Everyone seemed to like Noah on the wind in a rainbow. Very cute.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 13, 2017My 3 1/2 year old son loves this book. We bought it for him a few minutes tha ago after he was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and it's been a big hit. He loves book but this is his new favorite. Noah's is able to find joy looking at the beauty of the world.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2020The first two lines say it all: “Noah knew he was different. He could see things that others couldn't.” The rest of the story shows the beauty of being different. This is a story for every child who feels different or sees the world through a different lens – not just those on the spectrum or with sensory integration disorder. This whimsical story also highlights Noah’s special interest in weather.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 19, 2019The info on the book said it was about a kid with Aspeegers. It really had nothing to do with a child with Aspeegers. It was a cute story. My child like the story. However the info that tells about the story is misleading.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 1, 2015Such a sweet story with incredibly beautiful illustrations! My three year old loves it, but I think it would be appropriate for children of all ages.

Fabulous book. My son loves it. He is 6. He brought it to school as part of world autism month. His teacher text me to say how amazing she found it. The students all stayed interested throughout. I particularly love the illustrations

Very sweet little book. I ordered this for my college course (disability and community support) as there’s speculation that it may be based on ASD, but was never clear at all. Disability based book, or not, great inclusive book and very cute.
LoraldReviewed in Canada on June 24, 20192.0 out of 5 stars Not what I was expecting.
Purchased it for both my boys - one who is on the spectrum and while it is a beautiful-looking book, the story isn't relevant and both my 4.5 yr olds, including myself, found it really boring.
