You had to know from the start Noah was going to be a handful. Dropped on their doorstep after losing his mom , so young he hardly remembers her , having so much responsibility and rules , expected to follow his father's footsteps etc etc. Noah was a tornado building over the years. I loved how he and Van formed their amazing bond , I loved how he was hot and cocky yet loving like his dad. I loved how he was a normal sibling/cousin but also a fierce protector even if he had to fight off his annoying cousins to save his sister !! For me what I enjoy the most about a J4 book is how you know what to expect for flow and characters yet she still manages to find ways to sneak in some twists and make you wonder. Noah is definitely hot as sin so getting to see him and Shalan in action was nice !! As alpha and cocky as Noah is there is no doubt ever that he has a big heart and loves fiercely. It was sad to see his struggle with his family, I was upset with Colt for not being more understanding but you could feel his pain and worry so it made it hard to stay mad at him !! Thankfully there is an HEA here and I was happy his journey brought him where he belongs. I look forward to the next couple of kids books despite the fact that I have read the newest ones !! Isabella seems a mess and I am curious to see how Christian and Addison grow up.
Working on the ranch just isn't cutting it for Noah, it's all he's ever known but working with his dad is wearing thin and wondering if there is more out there, something else he could do or experience is never far from his thoughts. When his cousin Isabella (Bells) comes running to him again with another boy problem he is there to help her through her crisis. Noah and Bells have been close their whole lives and as adults there bond is stronger than ever.
When the Mitchell-Healy family all get together these days it's a huge gathering, getting together on the Mitchell ranch for a surprise party turns out to be very eventful...
"Uncle Ty was a crazy man. Growing up he’d taught me how to be funny, mischievous, and also that no matter what I did, there’d be a time to grow up and be responsible."
Colt’s mischievous cousins are exactly like their father Ty. With the bad mood Noah is in, this was the icing on the cake. After the twins were caught picking on his younger sister Christian, he comes up with a plan to get them back. Colt is not happy with Noah's actions and has words with him. Noah has had it and is now at boiling point. After yet another conversation and choice words Noah finally stands up to Colt and tells him what's been on his mind.
Colt has always been a hard man but always with the best intentions for his kids. His family is his life, nothing is more important.Read more ›
Noah's trying to break free from his life in this book. He doesn't want his birth right which is the Mitchell Family Ranch. He wants to be free to make his own decision and figure out what he wants in life. And since he's just like his daddy he's stubborn as a mule when it comes to what he wants... So Noah goes on a little soul searching mission... Ever the playboy and shunning any real relationships he refuses to settle down, when he leaves his family behind during a party for greener pastures he finds himself in a little town, in a little bar, with a girl that he will never be able to forget...
You can't help but fall in love with Shalan... I loved her from the minute her POV came about in the book. I could connect and identify with her almost immediately... She's gotten herself in quite the mess... But Noah being just like his daddy is a fixer and when they see someone in need that's what they do best. The chemistry between them is almost instant and Noah has that swagger, cockiness and charm that Shalan just cannot seem to resist. They start as friends, stranger even but the story that develops will break and melt your heart all at the same time...Read more ›
