Truly Great
(Verified Purchase)
"I am always looking for great books to share with my grandchildren. As they are very young I want good pictures and not to wordy so we can talk about what is really being told and what we are looking at." -DiMcK

From the Author

  • Imagine a children's Bible with thousands of illustrations so each part of each story has a picture. Then imagine this Bible being read aloud, so that non-readers and kids as young as 3 years old can begin to learn the scriptures. Now imagine that half of this Bible has already been done and the kids' responses are overwhelmingly enthusiastic; so much that they don't want to stop watching.
  • Teacher say they love it because they have so many visuals--15,000 so far-- and the class stays focused like a laser beam on the story.
  • We are taking random chapters from this Bible and putting them in kindle ebooks so that you can get an idea of what is in the DVD.

Alison did a fine job with this book. I purchased it for my grandchildren to read to them so they could learn in their own way about Noah's Ark, the struggles, turmoil and disturbing things that family had to encounter in their lives, while having faith that God would get them through.

great, fantastic, wonderful, so much wonder and amazement over and due to the fact that one has to type and respond with at least so many words and or characters in the respond box so you get :) This_ knowledge and stoppage of the copious verbiage dangling the threshold of shear wonderment

This is a lovely book in words and pictures. The author brings to life the traditional story with pictures that make it possible for a young child to grasp the meaning. I read it with my grandson and enjoyed watching his response. He quickly grasped the "good" vs "bad" context and marveled at the "big storm". Reaching even young children in this age of video games and iPods is no easy task. Noah's Ark proves that a well written story accompanied by beautiful artwork can reach across the digital divide and capture a young child's interest. Well done!

The story of Noah and his ark is as old as time, yet Radke mixes in tidbits like Noah's age when the ark was built and when he died, how long it took for the water to recede, and where the ark finally settled. This information gives the story much more in the way of substance and makes for an interesting read. The illustrations are wondeful!

The book itself is well-written and creatively illustrated, but lacking in directly pointing to Jesus as the Saviour from the future wrath of God by his cross. Parents should always discuss Bible stories with their children, of course, but this one may take a bit more explanation. Overall, however, a good book.

Luckily I got this for free or I would have been disappointed if I paid money for it. It looks like someone drew pictures of the people, animals, and boats and photoshopped them onto pictures found on the Internet. There are a lot of books out there about Noah's ark. To stand out it has to be easy to understand for the kids and pleasing to the eye. This one was at least a little of the former, but definitely not the latter. I gave it a three because it was free and the reading was simple enough. I wouldn't give it more because if you had to buy it look for another book with better illustrations.

My 2yr boy loved the pictures. It made the story come to life for him. And I actually learned some great important info about the Bible facts while reading it to him.
