“We didn’t need words as I kissed her. We didn’t need to say anything, because this was honestly a long time coming.”
Sierra began writing to her pen pal in high school and it brought a reprieve to a soldier who really didn’t have many people that cared about him except for his Gran. But when Gabriel’s letters suddenly stop, Sierra continues to write to him, praying that someday he’d write back.
Two years pass and Sierra finally receives a letter back and realizes how close he actually lives to her. As the story plays out, threads are woven in a way that connects them even deeper than just the letters they wrote to one another. Seriously, these two are fated to be with one another.
I can’t help but love a story about a broken guy and and wild child girl that mesh so perfectly. Malachi’s attitude changes from a deep darkness to a light that can only be attributed to Sierra and her protectiveness and love. Sierra deserved to have someone who just let her be and that’s exactly what Malachi gives her. Their relationship just sort of happens effortlessly and after everything that they’ve gone thru, especially Malachi, they deserve the happiness. But of course, this is an LLV book and there’s always some amount of drama that has you gasping as well as lots of past characters throughout the book that always makes me giddy. I love interconnected storylines and this had another level with the letters between them. The whole story is just one delight after another and I can’t wait for the last book in the series.
I mean the ending of this book....is a prime example....of the lack I am talking about.....
A few weeks later they had their baby....the end....
Just went you wonder what type of story the author can come up with after over 70 + books.
This is a story of pen pals that became more but didn't know they were tied together over the years. Just enough drama and sex.
Hell I got up at 12:45 am this morning waiting on the download and finished a little after 4 am. Im tried but happy! Lol Lani Lynn Vale has not lost her touch or short changes her readers.
There were medical emergencies, fights with parents & other family members, shared heartfelt letters, an unfortunate incarceration, a hit & run investigation, a delightful sperm mix-up, ‘Final Destination stuff’… *takes a deep breath* Don’t think you can put this book down to make dinner for your family because you WON’T & you CAN’T!
Malachi & Sierra were great together. I loved how their relationship started with a penpal set-up! And I loved seeing how it progressed through each letter; the daily life routines, the honesty & openness, the trust they had in each other growing stronger, the confession of love… *swoon* I only wish we got more couple time with them because they had a ton of junk thrown at them throughout this book. It was like they didn’t have enough time to just ‘Netflix & chill’… If you know what I mean. *wink wink*
Really hoping we get more on Zach & Juniper because it was super sad at how everything ended up going down with them. I’m so thankful that Zach did what he did but man… :( I. NEED. MORE.
Looking forward to the last book in the series, Depends On Who’s Asking, featuring Caro & Saint! That sneak peek at the the end of this book had me all, “WTF?!
What I love about Sierra and Malachi: 1. Sierra independence and not being afraid to go after what she wants. 2. Malachi recognizing her independence and not trying to change her. 3. Picking up where they left off with the letters. 4. Building their love off of their friendship.
Lani did it again! She has the ability to make us feel and fall in love with all of he couples. Im gonna be sad when Swat 2.0 is over with but I am also looking forward to what she writes in the future.
The author did throw a couple of curves in her storyline that had me smiling.
I swear I will buy anything this author writes. She is just that good.
The characters were likeable and Grans was a hoot.
I had a great couple of days enjoying this book.
I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the predictability of the story and the whole " who's baby thing". Yet I will still highly recommend the book.

I've been so curious about Malachi and what his book would read like because the obvious he was a POW but also because he was so shut off compared to the rest of the guys. I'm a sucker for a broken man, sue me. He surprised me in many ways because I was expecting a lot more harshness from the man but instead I feel like he's completely misunderstood and misjudged. It's clear he had demons but the sweet, caring and willingness of him? Man it had me in love.
Sierra is every bit the strong independent wild women her parents raised her to be. What can you expect with parents like Miller and Mercy ?. Much to their frustrations. One thing I really loved about Sierra is that as soon as she put her mind to something she did it. Even when she was doing it alone and future prospects were uncertain and scary she still had the lady balls to own her life and do her thang. I also love how she was Malachi's shield and stood up for him without any hesitation.
Their story is unexpected and full of surprises to say the least. It's so freaking sweet when you really think about the growth of their relationship and how they came to be a them. I love that they just kind of accepted the situation for what it was and grew together not in the least bit bothered about how fast things where going. They didn't even try to fight it. They just fit perfectly... the wild child and the broken outcast. The chemistry was crazy and the build up almost unfreakingbearable. The connection between them is unique and undeniable. They were really always meant to be and what brought them together finally had me crying like a crazy woman.
The suspense of this book is real. I felt like I had multi personalities as I was reading because one minute I was up then I was down then I was as angry as hell on wheels and then I was sweating at the sin of it all. Truly it took me on a ride. As per this book comes with slew of characters both old, recent and new. Some will frustrate you. Some will have you outright curious. And some will have you reminiscing books from the past. Something they all do though is add more dimension to the story. It really is one big crazy ever growing and evolving family that brings so much life to the pages. I love the different relationships and all the bickering, banter and love between them all. They give me life.
It's sweet and rewarding and surprising in so many ways. It's also a little heartbreaking and bitter sweet to. The plot progression is everything with snippets of the past blending seamlessly with the present in a way that makes you feel more connected to their journey. The characters are multidimensional with so much personality it's hard not to fall in love with them. This story as a whole is impossible not to love. I laughed, cried, swooned, ranted and raved through out. It just makes you feel. But it leaves you with the best kind of feels.
Watching them help each other, support each other and finally find love is awesome. Grans is fantastic and Axe is my hero, this is such an amazing series!
