Editorial Reviews

4 Stars! "Things are heating up as we head back to the Rez. In this the third installment of the Men of the White Sandy series we meet Nobody -- the definition of tall, dark and sexy. With a mix of gritty realism and mysticism, Anderson delivers a great story that is just a bit unexpected. The plot is exciting and the characters are heartfelt and down-to-earth."--RT  Book Reviews

5 stars! "Get ready to have your heart broken over and over... The struggle [Nobody] goes through to understand that he is worth loving and trusting is heartbreaking but so worth the journey that I'm honored to have had the chance to read it and gush over it to anyone who will listen. You want this story!"--Books-A-Holic Anon

Recommended Read! "Nobody is one of the best contemporary romances of 2014, thus far. This book held me in thrall from the first word until the last. The story has such heart - even amidst the starkness of life on the reservation. And Nobody is a hero to die for. He is unforgettable, in his quiet way. I encourage readers to read his story..."--Romance Novel News

About the Author

Sarah M. Anderson is an award-winning author of modern-day Cowboys-and-Indian stories. A Man of Privilege won Desire Book of the Year 2012 from RT's Editor's Picks. Sarah also self-published her grandmother Goldie M. Lucas' novel, Eleanore Gray in 2011. A sweet inspirational historical, Eleanore Gray is set in the Ozark Hills in 1902. Sarah lives in Illinois with her husband, son, and rescue mutts. After reading the first two books, Mystic Cowboy and Masked Cowboy, to say that I was curious about Nobody Bodine is an understatement. How can one not be intrigued by a man who people don’t see, either because they choose not to or are unable to, who speaks little, has a menacing countenance but always seems to appear to help when one is in a jam? So I was thrilled to find out that he had gotten his own book and was not disappointed.

Nobody’s past is filled with fear, pain and loneliness. He doesn’t know the meaning of love or friendship so he sticks to the shadows and does what good he can in his own special way. Melinda is in White Sandy to head the new daycare center while staying with her sister Madeline and her husband Rebel licking her wounds from another relationship gone down the tubes. And when the two of them meet, total opposites in more ways than one, their worlds get rocked to their cores. They each have to learn to trust in each other and while it is difficult, for so many reasons, they work through it all. I love how we learn about Nobody’s past and get inside his head, which is a lot because speaking isn’t something he enjoys, and see how he thinks, especially when Melinda does things that go against how most people react to him. And Melinda is a true firecracker, she doesn’t give up on Nobody, she treats him with a firm, yet gentle hand and helps him to see that he is so much more than a nobody.

I enjoyed reading the story as a whole and being able to get caught up with characters from the first two books. Also, what I admire about this series is how Ms. Anderson doesn’t over glorify life on the rez, nor does she hide the ugliness from the reader. She makes it real with a good balance of the good and bad, while adding a nice, healthy dose of Native American mysticism to the mix.

Hot cover! that's not why I bought the book. I think it was Smart Bitches that mentioned the author and I tried this one (probably because it was on sale???)

The romance was hot and dramatic. The underlying issues weren't shyed away from -- which I really appreciated. Life is challenging.

But the characters didn't quite ring true for me. Too different. Larger than life.

I feel bad being a bit harsh. For lots of people, I think the characters work.

Sometimes books just don't connect.

I've been anxiously waiting for Nobody's book since Mystic Cowboy (book 1) came out. Luckily, Nobody did not disappoint!

Nobody Bodine is definitely a very tortured hero, and I felt his pain in this book. When he begins to open up about his past with Melinda, I nearly cried at his obvious pain. Needless to say, I was thrilled to see him fall for Melinda, a woman who cared for him, who could see him. He deserved a HEA, and the journey to reach it was so very well done.

I've really enjoyed Sarah M. Anderson's previous books, and Nobody is definitely my favorite so far. I love the types of stories Anderson tells, and the heroes she creates. Her heroines are also very strong, and the romance is both sweet and sexy. Perfection, really!

I loved finally reading Nobody's story, and being able to visit with the various characters of the White Sandy again. Steamy and sweet with a lovely story and fascinating setting, Nobody is a gem of a contemporary romance. If you love a good tortured hero with a heart of gold, don't miss this book!

4 1/2 STARS!

I’ve been waiting for Nobody since Sarah M. Anderson introduced us to the Men of the White Sandy, and I was definitely not disappointed.

Nobody is the tortured hero to end all tortured heroes. He “follows no law but his own.” Nobody doesn’t say much, but the author communicates who he is perfectly. Also, the book is as hot as it is sweet.

Melinda is the only one who can “see” him, notice him, understand him. She doesn’t fear him, and he can’t even wrap his head around that. Her confident, fun nature is the perfect counterpoint to Nobody’s heartbreakingly beautiful character that is revealed bit by bit as they work together to keep a young boy safe from the same type of abuse that marked Nobody’s childhood.

I have read all the Sarah M. Anderson books I can get my hands on (both this series and her Harlequin Desires), and Nobody is the best of the best. I read the ebook in one sitting and will be ordering the print version as well.

I love the uniqueness of the characters this author writes. Even though these books are works of fiction there is such a sense of truth throughout them about the plights that the Native Americans have had to go through. The male lead in this book is defiantly one for the books of most tortured. One that has only lived in the dark making sure no one sees him because he is his name - a Nobody. Even typing that makes me cringe because he isn't a nobody. He is a man that had a horrible childhood that ended with him in prison at 17 for seven years. Even once getting out he still chose to live isolated away from people. He really thinks he is nothing and no one would want to be around him. That is until an abused child that reminds him of what he went through and a white woman who can see him even when he she shouldn't start dragging him out of the darkness he has grown comfortable and in to the light.

Now that I've read all 3 books in this series I can stay this author has a unique writing style that doesn't just focus on one thing. Each book has had specific thing its focused one - The first book was the healthcare of Lakota's, the second book the horses and cattle taken care of by the Lakota's and how a greedy land owner uses the beef given back to them in a sinister way which also ties into what happened in book one and the third dealt with the abuse of native American children and what happens to them if they are taken by social services - how they are stripped of their Indian names, hair cut and made to basically become white. Each book has also had unconventional romances with couples that you've never think to read as leading ladies or men.
