About the Author

Born British and raised in South Africa, Sarah Hegger suffers from an incurable case of wanderlust. Her match? A Canadian engineer, whose marriage proposal she accepted six short weeks after they first met. Together they've made homes in seven different cities across three different continents (and back again once or twice). If only it made her multilingual, but the best she can manage is idiosyncratic English, fluent Afrikaans, conversant Russian, pigeon Portuguese, even worse Zulu and enough French to get herself into trouble. Mimicking her globetrotting adventures, Sarah's career path began as a gainfully employed actress, drifted into public relations, settled a moment in advertising, and eventually took root in the fertile soil of her first love, writing. She also moonlights as a wife and mother. She currently lives in Draper, Utah, with her teenage daughters, two Golden Retrievers and aforementioned husband. Part footloose buccaneer, part quixotic observer of life, Sarah's restless heart is most content when reading or writing books. www.SarahHegger.com.

In this Willow Park series, Hegger is taking on some tough topics. (Alcoholism in the first book.) In this, the second book of the series, she takes bi-polar disorder head on and wraps it in a wonderful romance. Down to earth, true life characters that will worm their way into your heart.

The chemistry between Holly and Josh is amazing throughout the novel, and the story is a compelling, page-turner. A great read from page one right through to the end. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series, and just about anything else Ms. Hegger cares to write.

I enjoyed this complicated romance. There really was a whole lot of story packed into this novel. I really do like the fact that this series isn't afraid to touch upon difficult subjects, including mental illness in this book. I do wish that the story focused on the romance between Holly and Josh a bit more than it did. This book really felt like it was more about Holly's family issues than anything else but I did enjoy the overall story.

Holly is the oldest of four sisters and has always held the role of protector. In fact she has almost raised her two youngest sisters, Portia and Emma, along with help from her sister, Grace. When Portia disappears from their home in London, Canada, Holly goes to Chicago to find her. Portia is mentally ill and has not been taking her medication so Holly has a lot to worry about and only one clue....Josh.

Josh is attractive and he knows it. He tries hard to be a good person and not take advantage of anyone. When he runs into Holly, he is shocked and is quickly pulled into her quest to find her sister. The pair soon develop feelings for each other but Holly isn't sure that she can fit a relationship into her life along with all the responsibilities that she has in caring for her sisters.

I really liked the story and all of the characters but felt that the romance took a back seat to the drama involving Holly's sisters. At times, Holly's sisters seemed like stronger characters than Holly since their needs really took over the book. I really wanted more romance in this story. I didn't feel the chemistry between Josh and Holly that I had hoped for. I actually think that the pair were more interesting before they found Holly's sister. Of course, they never seemed to be alone together after that happened.

I adore this series! Ms. Hegger knocks it out of the park again with another emotional, heart-tugging romance. Again, she tackles some difficult, real-life issues. I appreciate romance grounded in realism. That Holly can find love amidst all of her family's drama leaves hope for the rest of us. Beautifully written, three dimensional characters with great chemistry. Love it!

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Holly arrived in Chicago tired and very frustrated. She was looking for her sister; a sister that has to be on medication. Clues led her to a place and person she thought she’d never lay eyes on again. Josh Hunter stood at the dimly lit bar. As he stood there drinking his beer, his eyes locked on one woman and he couldn’t look away. He studied her face, he could see her angry eyes were targeted at him. As Holly watches Josh from across the crowded bar, she wonders if she has the courage to do this. Josh focuses on the woman’s face and it finally hits him that it was Holly Partridge.

Holly needs Josh’s help if she’s going to ever find her sister, but circumstances are beyond her control. Holly is determined to hold on to those unsavory high school memories and Josh finds himself trying to break through the wall she has built around herself.

Sarah Hegger is an amazing writer. She brings her characters to life. I was completely drawn to the story and hooked from the beginning. I know you would really enjoy reading it.

The witty banter between this frenemies to lovers main couple is what made Nobody’s Fool an enjoyable romantic read for this NetGalley reviewer. The author’s writing style flowed, and she juggled a large cast of believable secondary characters within an interesting plot very well. My only complaint is the sisterhood theme/drama at times dominated the storyline, pushing the hero aside.

If you are looking for a heart touching, angst-filled, "handsome former player reunites with feisty, self-sacrificing heroine desperately in need of a hero" romantic tale, you should consider reading book 2 of the Willow Park series, Nobody’s Fool. It certainly clicked with this reviewer.

Nobody’s Fool is the second installment in Sarah Hegger’s Willow Park series and it was just as powerful as the first, Nobody’s Angel. As with the first in the series, Nobody’s Fool features difficult, real world issues not commonly tackled in the romance genre and does it with so much heart and emotion you cannot help but find yourself deeply enmeshed in the story. Each character is extremely well developed, so much so that many of their struggles resonated with me at a very personal level.

And the romance…I just loved the way Josh and Holly’s story developed. The sass and sharp banter at first, the gradual shift into mutual respect, and the fight to overcome obstacles in the end. It was beautiful, particularly the way Josh fought for and believed in Holly, even when she couldn’t believe in herself.

If you favor stories with depth and heart-touching emotion, both installments from the Willow Park series should be on your TBR. I can’t wait to see what Sarah does with her next release, Nobody’s Princess.
