Teaming up eleven stator guide vanes with a specially conceived seven blade impeller, the NF-F12’s Focused Flow system creates outstanding static pressure and focuses the airflow for superior performance on heatsinks and radiators. At the same time, a wide range of advanced aerodynamic design measures, second generation SSO-Bearing and Noctua’s new, custom designed PWM IC for fully automatic control assures astounding quietness of operation. The NF-F12 comes with modular cabling, integrated anti-vibration pads and two speed settings for full flexibility. Its commanding performance, exhaustive set of features and Noctua’s trusted premium quality make it an elite choice for use on air coolers, radiators and other pressure demanding applications.
Focused Flow frame
Designed for pressure demanding applications such as heatsinks and radiators, the Focused Flow frame features eleven stator guide vanes that straighten, channel and focus the airflow, which allows the NF-F12 to rival the performance of conventional fans running at much faster speeds.
Custom designed for the new Focused Flow frame and to work in tandem with the eleven stator guide vanes, the NF-F12's seven blade Heptaperf impeller has been carefully optimised to achieve a perfect balance between power and quietness.
The NF-F12 is the first fan to feature the further optimised second generation of Noctua's renowned, time-tested SSO bearing. With SSO2, the rear magnet is placed closer to the axis to provide even better stabilisation, precision and durability.
Varying Angular Distance and Vortex Control Notches
The NF-F12's stator guide vanes are set out in Varying Angular Distance and feature Vortex-Control Notches. Both measures help to spread the noise emission over a broader frequency spectrum and thus make the fan's sound pattern more agreeable to the human ear.
Scope of Delivery
Integrated anti-vibration pads
Integrated anti-vibration pads made from extra-soft silicone minimise the transmission of minute vibrations while maintaining full compatibility with all standard screws and other mounting systems.

Expensive, but quality is great, and they're effective.
Noctua hasn't let me down yet. You could say I'm... a fan.
It's worth noting that both fans do have the low noise adapter installed and are running about ~1200 RPM give or take. Absolute silence. Nothing to hear whatsoever. The F12 is designed for static pressure and in turn it's at home on a radiator. My observed temps have stayed the same within margin of room temperature fluctuations and never once have I heard them. Also of note, on stock fans the H100i sounds like a jet taking off on startup. It's brief but it roars when you come out of standby or power up. Not with these. You will not regret buying these fans.
I had to actually look at the fan to ensure it was on and spinning. I could barely hear it if I pressed my ear against the case. CPU temps? Everything's cool as a cucumber. Yeah, they don't match the black aesthetic of my case, but if you want a silent, quality fan, this is the one you want.
Keep in mind, though, that this is best as a radiator/heatsink fan rather than a standard case fan. If you want something blowing air out the back of your case, take a gander at the NF-S12A (also a fantastic product).
After poking around on the internet, a tech geek site forum section mentioned that this was a very good fan to replace very loud fans. That seemed to fit my bill so I bought it here because it was $15 less than the site they recommended to buy it from. So I swung for the fences and purchased this fan that did not match my build's color scheme at all. After reviewing my own fashion sense.... or lack thereof.... I figured it would fit nicely in it's new home.
I received it mere hours prior to writing this review and the results were fantastic enough to make me write this before more awesomeness destroys my household and the rainbows and puppy-dogs displace all breathable oxygen around my living area where my computer now resides.... in silence.
This fan is seriously quiet. I can barely hear it run at all. My computer resides in the living room where it will be turned into a one-stop-entertainment shop so quiet running is a must. It now makes my computer run quieter than my PS2, PS3 and quite possibly my PS4 which is odd to me.
This fan is easily installed and comes with tabs to attach to the back of the case without tools. It's nice that the manufacturers threw in a two extension cords and a Y-bridge so you can hook more fans together, but be warned that all sound will be sucked out of the room because of how quiet these fans run.
This fan is a great value at $20 and will make your computer exponentially silent. Buy it now.
I like that these come with the the splitter and extra parts. Having had a sleeve bearing gunk up and brick a power supply these sealed bearing fans with the accessories are ABSOLUTELY worth the extra money.
Think of it like this, YES you can save $5 to $8 and get something else but then you might need the splitter which will cost a few more $ anyway. Fans are always an afterthought but after having stuff burn up because of terrible fans (like I did) you'll be willing to spend the extra cash on the fan.
If you'll buy a $300 mobo, $400 graphics card and $200 in RAM why not spend the extra $10 on a good fan?
The quality really might not be there but you'll save money. Personally, I get these not for their looks (because they are super ugly) I get them for performance and reliability.
For me, a casual gamer; they're performing as good as I could expect. Low noise and low temps. I would buy them again. iI fact I did, I've replaced all my fans with them!

PERFECT for radiators, CPU heatsinks and for front intake next to HDD bays if your not running a raid 10 array of m.2 or SATA 3 1Gb SSD's Bit noisy for me as its at full rpm as I think I made a boo boo but temps came down 20 degrees celcius so I did something better than before
It's worth noting that I use mine as a CPU heatsink fan. In my opinion, the similar Noctua NF-S12A is the marginally better choice as a case fan. It's the same price at this moment in time: Noctua NF-S12A PWM Case Fan 120 mm . The S12A is even quieter than this one, and slightly better at shifting large volumes of air. Whereas the F12 is better at generating static pressure, which is what you would want from a CPU cooler fan. An internet search for 'noctua which fan is right for me?' will take you to Noctua's website with much more detailed information...
But the subtlety above aside, if you're looking for quality, you've probably found the right choice.
as I bought the NF-F12 fan to cool my fan heatsink t his is a big deal as I cannot do it?
searching Amazon and with Google search I found nothing regards Steel Clips if anyone knows where to find them or advice how to please let me know
emailed Noctua direct and advised them of my problem hope they help out
** removed a star so only 4 star, this for the missing Steel Clips
*** update 2/3/18
Noctua posted me 4x Steel clips! received them 7 days after contacting Noctua customer support! (easy 5 Amazon stars for great customer service
Fan is ultra quiet, running on quality bearings, no signs heat build up whatsoever, i have to look at the switch to check that it's on, otherwise you wouldn't know, yes i could have bought one for half the price but noctua make quality products, i leave this on for 6 plus hours after the event, it draws virtually no power that is noticeable on my leisure battery & i am confident in years of trouble free use.
They're whisper-quiet, the engineering quality is amazing and so is the longevity - I've never had one fail, even after >5 years regular usage and despite looking pretty grubby.
The packaging is probably the best I've seen for any product and the included accessories cover silent rubber or screw mounting, an extension cable, and a speed reduction cable (which reduces the minimal noise still further).
