Having received more than 100 awards and recommendations from international hardware websites and magazines, the NF-F12 is one of Noctua’s most renowned and popular 120mm fans. Its outstanding static pressure performance and the FocusedFlow frame make it ideal for use on heatsinks and radiators. The chromax.black.swap edition combines the NF-F12’s signature quiet cooling performance with an attractive all-black design and a bundle of swappable red, white, blue, green, yellow and black anti-vibration pads that allow the colour-customisation of the fan to match individual build colour schemes. For further customisation, a wide range of accessories such as coloured cables, additional anti-vibration pads and anti-vibration mounts are available separately. Topped off with Noctua’s trusted premium-grade SSO2 bearing and more than 150,000 hours MTTF, the NF-F12 PWM chromax.black.swap is the perfect choice for all users who value individual, focused build aesthetics just as much as class-leading quality and performance.
Award-winning NF-F12 design
Having received more than 150 awards and recommendations from the international press, Noctua's NF-F12 has become a proven premium choice for 120mm cooling needs. Its renowned efficiency has convinced tens of thousands of customers all over the world.
Swappable anti-vibration pads in 6 colours
The NF-F12 PWM chromax.black.swap comes with 4 black, white, red, blue, green and yellow NA-AVP1 anti-vibration pads respectively. By combining the various colours with black or leaving off the pads on one side, the fan can be coordinated with most popular build colour schemes out of the box. Additional NA-SAVP1 sets for outfitting both sides in one colour can be purchased separately.
The chromax line fans feature the further optimised second generation of Noctua’s renowned, time-tested SSO bearing. With SSO2, the rear magnet is placed closer to the axis to provide even better stabilisation, precision and durability.
Varying Angular Distance and Vortex Control Notches
The NF-F12's stator guide vanes are set out in Varying Angular Distance and feature Vortex-Control Notches. Both measures help to spread the noise emission over a broader frequency spectrum and thus make the fan's sound pattern more agreeable to the human ear.
Focused Flow frame
Designed for pressure demanding applications such as heatsinks and radiators, the Focused Flow frame features eleven stator guide vanes that straighten, channel and focus the airflow, which allows the NF-F12 to rival the performance of conventional fans running at much faster speeds.
Maximising colour choices, Noctua’s chromax.black.swap edition fans can be colour-customised using the included swappable anti-vibration pads as well as optional anti-vibration mounts and cables. This makes them ideal for enthusiasts looking for true premium-grade fans that can be colour-coordinated with popular build themes such as all black, black & white or black & red.

I didn't give 5 stars due to the anti-vibration pads alone, and I'm aware of how ridiculous that sounds at first. There should be 8 anti-vibration pads (instead of 4) per color, as the other Chromax fans I bought have 8. Pairing these with the others just doesn't match up. It isn't the end of the world and they still perform as I'd expect, but I paid extra replacing the stock brown Noctua fans with these and it still doesn't look the way I'd like, so I can't accomplish my aesthetic goal with Noctua fans. Furthermore, I now feel like I would've saved money in the end just getting a different brand altogether and not have to worry about spending more money and replacing fans.
I decided to buy these to replace the LL120mm RGB Corsair fans for 2 reasons:
1. I think Noctua are better Static Pressure fans and thus my CPU will have the best cooling for pushing air through the radiator and keeping everything cool
2. The RGB would be beyond hidden if I wanted to see the beautiful RGB on the fans I wouldn't be able to
I ended up putting the Corsair fans elsewhere so you can see their beauty and I have amazing fans on my Radiator
+ Aesthetically pleasing for my build, white matches the RGB lighting on motherboard and front fans and LED strip
+ much quieter tone compared to stock Cryorig H7 fan
+ Pretty simple to mount to cooler with H7 fan clip
+ variety of color options for rubber mounts
+ Strong cooling power (notice at most a 3-5 degree Celsius difference from stock with an upgraded Noctua airflow fan on the back)
- High price for fans
- short cables

I love these fans. I'm officially a "fan" of Noctua fans (HA bet you didn't expect the puns in this review). From my testing, this Noctua fan paired with the stock case fan that I had on the rear for CPU cooling made only a minimal difference, maybe within the margin of error. With the second Noctua fan, it made a huge difference because this fan is able to push hard on the heat stack and the rear fan is able to keep up with a large amount of airflow. I do recommend this product for a heatsink upgrade, but I would recommend you upgrade the case fan in back to compliment it.
For the noise, I notice a substantial difference compared to the stock fan, mainly because it is a lower tone compared to the normal Cryorig fan. The same goes for the rear fan, it is substantially quieter than the stock Fractal Design case fan. Highly recommended.

I also fitted a 140mm on the back of the case which is also next to silent. I have them all set to standard in the bios and can just about hear them.
Two more to be ordered to replace the fans on the 240mm rad and then I am sure it'll be purring like a cat.
The point I am trying to make is that these fans are very good in terms of airflow and sound. I'll be buying more to replace other fans.
THANK YOU Noctua finally for making fans that replace the brown monstrosities :)
It’s faulty. Something that a quick quality control check should have picked up.
I waited about 5 days on this fan. I actually read up on it and it’s what I needed but I’m so annoyed I’ve wasted time and energy with a sub-standard item.
I now have to take time out of my day to repackage, post it back and wait for confirmation it has been received. Then After all that I will have to wait for a refund!
I may not like the original Noctua colour fans, but you certainly cant complain about the quality.
I guess a few years ago before glass panel cases it made no difference, it does now though. Maybe that is Noctua's stratagy as they get more sales by consumers buying extra fans to replace the horid original ones.
Some people say these are expensive but honestly your buying an object that will generate sound for every second you use your machine so its a no brainer to spend a little bit above the average for something better.
The black plastic is of a high quality with a very nice colour, premium packaging, you can really tell the people who made these genuinely care about what they're making.
Each fan has 4 corner peices of the same color, should have been 8 imo but i guess you can buy more if you really want to.
There is a cable extension adapter close to the fan frame which can get in the way, for me i had to rotate the fans 90degrees so that the cable extension adapter was to the side, otherwise i would not have been able to stack my front fans properly as it causes a cm gap almost if left in the way.....
The fan proved easy to install and, in association with Noctua's NH-L12S Heat Sink, immediately commenced doing the job for which it was bought. The product is considered to be good value for the purchase price. Well satisfied, as with other Noctua products.
As for Cooling, I didn't really need it but well, why not!
