I have a water cooled PC, with 3 case fans. Two were in a push/pull on the radiator and a third fan exhausted out the back. Since I purchased the tower from a friend, the fans were always loud, so much so that I finally got fed up and decided to do something about.

I read a lot of reviews, sites about low noise fans, user experiences etc and I was a little frustrated because there really is no industry standard to follow for the noise rating. (Side note, I sell HVAC equipment and exhaust fans for commercial applications, I'm a mechanical sales engineer and when I saw these fans had serrated blade edges I knew that would help with sound because I've seen it before [...] Ziehl has a fan they market as having "owlet" blades for low noise).

Regardless any highly rated fan was going to cost $12-15 and up, so I decided I'd rather over spend to get the sound I wanted versus trying to save a few bucks and be unhappy with the sound output.

So the fans arrive, I install them with no issues. The only slight issue during installation was the fans they were replacing happened to be slightly wider (still 120mm), so the bolts/nuts I used to remount them had to be trimmed to fit (the bolts that is). Otherwise they provide these rubber isolators that you'd otherwise use a bolt or other ridge mounting method to further help attenuate any potential noise. Note this bolt issue was only because of how the fans were mounted on the radiator, no issue on the case portion to exhaust out. (Side note they also provide what appears to be self tapping screws if you forgo the rubber isolation). They provide plenty of different power connections and even a 3 pin extender to the 3 pin the fan is already wired too.

Fired up my PC and it is damn near silent, I can still hear the fans, but WOW what a difference. Even my wife noticed a huge difference. I'll be using this exact fan in every future PC build from now on.

I needed to replace my 120mm case fan that seized up. A friend had used the Noctua fans in a build he did and raved about them. So I ordered this model, upon installation, I found the fan not running when I started the machine. I went into the bios and set the fan to run at all times - reboot - fan is still not running. Finally I searched the faqs at Noctua, and found that there is a problem using the "low noise" or "ultra low noise" adapters with a Gigabyte motherboard (which I have) the solution is simple enough - install without either of the two included adapters (L.N.A. or U.L.N.A.) and it ran just fine. So now I have enabled the bios fan control and everything works as it should.

It's a 120mm case fan. Not much to say except that the only thing that might improve it is a three speed switch instead of the seperate wire extensions.

I had antec three speed fans previously that came with an up market case partly designed by the silent PC folks. Anyway these Noctua fans are quieter, I run mine at full speed without the adaptors and it's quieter than my tri speed antec fan it replaced.

I like the silicon vibration stops that come with it. If you are fastening it to sheet metal like directly on the back of the case. You can use these without screws to hold the fan in place. Very cool. Means you can quickly remove the fan and clean it if needed.

I will be replacing the front inlet fan and top exhaust fan with these too. On amazon they are not that expensive, MUCH better and competitively priced compared to commonly found mainstream fans you will find in local retail stores.

Take any other fan in your hand and spin it manually and you can feel it clicking. Not this fan. It is buttery smooth. I cannot attest to the silent nature of the fan yet as it is still being drowned out by the two horrible case fans that came with the case. But as best as I can tell it is running fine.

I've installed this fan on the CPU radiator. Seems to work fine. I did not use the included current reducers as I want maximum airflow over the radiator (this model isn't adjustable).

I'm not using the included mounts as they don't work with the radiator, but I am saving them for the new case fans that will come in in a few days.

Shipping was lightning fast. I was surprised to find them in the mailbox today.

I will buy more in the future.

I purchased two of these fans to replace one of the exhaust fans in my gaming case and to add an intake fan to that case. I was so impressed with the effectiveness and noise level of the two 120mm fans included with the NH-U12P CPU cooling solution that I immediately purchased two more of these 120mm fans. They have all the connectors you need right out of the box and they are more efficient than the stock 120 fans that come with your case and are much quieter! You'll love these fans. The rubberish mounting things they provide are pretty useless. Just mount them with the included screws and you will be impressed at the performance and lower noise level. My gaming case temp went down a few degrees by adding one as an exhaust fan and one as an intake fan. Great fans!

Bought 2 of these on Oct 23rd 2014 and installed (PC badaxe D930 WIN 7, Corsair 650 power supply. ) with in a week after delivery. Since last one year one of the fans ( visible from above) was stalling. The other fan ( intake fan in the front , not visible) was also stalling, noticed today when I opened the case since the processor was s***ting down since past 3 months due to thermal error ( four alternating beeps). I thought these are the top of the line fans, so why are they stalling. I thought once I install them I could forget them for at least 5 years. My other fans in the same pic were running fine since Jul 2007 before I replaced those with these fans.should I still repl ace them with the same brand ?

5.0 out of 5 stars Super satisfied!
Reviewed in Canada on July 25, 2014
I've replaced the old 120mm stock case fan in my Antec PC and tried it. WOW!!!! What a difference! It was super quiet and still cools my PC sufficiently with my BeQuiet Dark Rock 3. Noctua NF-P12 and BeQuiet Dark Rock 3 is a super winning combination for cooling your PC and stay quiet!!!!

    Simply... AWESOME!

Note: The blue adapter is supposed to be ultra low noise and the black adapter is low noise. Neither worked for me. The white adapter is supposed to be regular speed and that worked for me. Still super quiet with the white adapter.

Cons: Wish they could make the rubber thingies longer so that it can hold the fan securely.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good low-noise fan
Reviewed in Canada on January 24, 2016
I'm using one of these as an intake fan in a Cosmos 1000.

    Pros:
    - It moves a lot of air, quietly. That's why I bought it.
    - Sleeved cable.
    - Comes with 2 adapters for lower RPM.

    Cons:
    - The color scheme: it looks like sh*t. And unfortunately this particular model is not available in Noctua's Redux line.
    - The rubber mounts are not soft enough. Also, they are too short, making installation difficult in tight spaces. Luckily I had some silicone fan mounts that are a lot softer and longer, and used those instead.

Overall a good fan, if you mount it in a place where you don't have to look at it.

The most quiet fans I've ever had. I use 3 of these in my main rig and 2 of them on my media pc. they are DEAD silent (I use the blue ULN adapters). Luckily you can't see them because they are ugly but I am a stickler for silence.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's an excellent fan that operates very quietly
Reviewed in Canada on December 28, 2016
There's not much to say about the fan. It's an excellent fan that operates very quietly. I just wish the normal ones came a better color. Price is kind of steep for a fan but the quality, longevity, and warranty more than make up for it.
