Expensive but effective

I have to agree with other posters, this charging cable has been expensive from every seller I've seen with it. However, I'd rather pay the extra cost for something that I intend on using with a device I need on a daily basis. There seems to be some current limiting electronics within the cord- this means I don't need to be as wary of charging it on someone else's computer, as there is little risk of a mis-wired USB port frying my handheld. I have lost a USB Hard drive and a minidisc player to people connecting them to incorrectly wired USB ports, so I tend to keep that in mind.

The cord is very short, so you need a flat surface near the USB port you're using. However, it's also small enough to clip around a keyring and carry it with your house keys. The reason using the USB cord tends to result in a longer charge time is likely just available power. The wall charger for my N810 for example provides 5v at 890mA. USB ports can supply a max of 500mA if I remember right. This would easily explain the difference in charging times for my N810, and probably for most other devices as well.

Overall I'm quite happy with this charging cable. It works well, and saves me the trouble of carrying a wall charger (and when I do, I can carry a USB wall adapter that I can now plug my N810 and all my other devices into.)

Slow Nokia USB Charger

It's a space saver USB charger. And I love the attached cap!! USB connection makes it a great accessory for traveling. I bought it for my mom, who came to visit me but forgot her charger in her home country. I figure this USB charger would still be useful after she's gone back home. So, it should worth the money. However, I must say it does take super long time to charge my phone.

And for some reason, the battery drain super fast, way faster than usual according to my mom. A fully charged battery used to last her a full day with normal usage. Now it's only good for "one-time-use", while all she does is turning the phone on to get a couple phone numbers from her address book and she would turn it off right afterward. But a day or two later, she can't even turn it back on without a re-charge to get some other friends' numbers. Since she's traveling now and this USB charger is the only one she has, so she has to stick with it for the time being. Not sure if it's the battery itself or if it's this USB charger doesn't do a good job. But for sure, my mom is blaming me ruined her battery life......

Reading the other reviews doesn't seem like this USB charger has this kinda problem. Maybe it's just the battery or my luck... Oh, well......

Confusion on product

Some reviewers have commented that the product they receive is not what shows in the product description above. I purchased two of these from the Warehouse Deals and the product I received was packaged as a NIB Nokia CA-100 USB to 2mm adapter. However, what was inside the factory sealed packaging was a Nokia USB to micro-USB cable.

All of the details and packaging in my hand described the CA-100 as the 2mm power adapter that I had ordered, but definitely not what was in the package. All Nokia branded product. So, not sure what the actual story is. Like maybe somebody decided to change the product without changing the numbers or the description. It could be a matter of production vintage, newer shelf product versus older. Not sure how to be sure what you are going to receive when you order this item.

The cables are nice. I will most likely keep them to use as short micro-USB adapters

Slick Device, but Pricey

It is exactly the size of a USB memory stick with a lanyard attached. Read, small, very small. The USB cap is attached to the charging wire, an excellent design.

Oh does it work perfectly. Combine this with an APC UPB10 Mobile Power Pack for charging mobile devices battery, and you've got one heck of a charging device.

Yes this thing is way too expensive. But darn it, I'm charing my very expensive Nokia phone with it (N95). Nokia N95-3 Silver/Bronze Phone (Unlocked) North American Version

Happy I bought this. The Amazon seller - Antonline - not exactly a speedy rabbit.

Now I have to figure out how not to lose this device.

Was shipped Nokia CA-101D cable in sealed CA-100 box

Someone, somewhere has a dark sense of humor. After ordering a CA-100 cable and waiting for the Brown Truck of Happiness to arrive, I discovered that inside the Amazon box was a sealed package festooned with Nokia logo and "CA-100" model designation. The back of the package says "Nokia Original Accessories" too. Inside the sealed box is a Nokia branded CA-101D cable. What this means is that instead of the CA-100 cable that has a USB connector on one end, and a Nokia 2mm connector on the other, I ended up with a cable that has a micro-USB connector on one end. So... No joy. For a $6 cable I'm not going to burn gasoline and time returning it. I can always use this cable with my other devices. However, I cannot recommend this vendor at all.

Convenient But Unbearably Slow

This is a very convenient way to charge your cellphone as theres always a computers are everywhere, but the charge rate is so slow its impractical to depend on. I've used this at work while listening to internet radio which really drains the battery during use. This charger helped keep from draining the battery, but didn't charge fast enough to increase the charge while using the phone at the same time. For that reason of the slow charge I gave it one less star.

Another problem I had was the length of the cable, is so short i couldn't lay my cellphone on the desk it had to hang off the front of the computer unless propped up by travel coffee mug. For that reason I had to give it less another star.

Being as there isn't anything better out there as convenient charging, this is something i carry around with me and use.
