Reading through the Non-GMO Cookbook by Courtney Pineau and Megan Westgate, I felt that the information about GMO's and the importance for labeling all food products sold to consumers was knowledgeably written with passion and sincere concern for human safety. Educating myself on the Non-GMO movement, has made me more aware of the chemicals being used on food products, impacting the choices I make at our grocery stores. This is the first cookbook that I have seen with delicious recipes to help you to live a Non-GMO lifestyle. Beautiful illustrations throughout this book is an added bonus.

This is a handy book if you are interested in learning what GMOs are, how to avoid them, and what you can make with non-GMO ingredients. Plus, many of the recipes cater to special diets (non-dairy, gluten-free, allergies, and sensitivities). Earlier in the week, I made the Beans and Spinach Stuffed Acorn Squash, which was delicious. I plan on making the Mexican Lasagna next! For a cookbook, it has lots of rich photography and is a convenient size--meaning it doesn't take up much space on the counter. Check out the video component of my review for a better idea of the interior. If you are concerned about GMOs in your food, you should give this book a read and enjoy its recipes.

I bought this cookbook both to support the non gmo project in a non direct donation way, and for the recipes.

Some people have complained about the book being printed in China, and other sustainability issues, but what it comes down to is how is the book?

It has some really nice looking recipes in it, that use alternative ingredients in place of traditional flours, sweeteners and etc.

The info it has on GMO's really is stuff you can find most of on their website, but its neat to have it in the book.

So if you are looking for some nice healthy alternative recipes, and to support the non-gmo project, but this book!

I love the entire book - from front to back. Not only does it seem to have really great recipes, but it comes with a little advice sprinkled throughout. And the pictures are super sharp and vibrant. The pages, nice and thick. I just think the entire book is five stars.

Be sure and buy NON-GMO, when getting ingredients for some of the recipes, as some of what these recipes call for would have GMOs in them. The only way to avoid that, is to buy (for example) NON-GMO corn.

There are some really good recipes in here, but I do wish that there was a little more variety in the main dishes. My favorite recipe so far is the Beef Nachos with Guacamole and Salsa. This is a good book if you're looking to experiment with cooking GMO-free, but I'd recommend another book or two if you want to have some more variety in what you cook.

I bought this book (along with a few others mentioned at [...] because of potential serious health issues greatly stemming from eating your basic American diet, i.e. too much fast food, most of which is sugar-filled junk. I started reading labels -- in detail. Do you know what "they" are doing to us with interest only in their bottom lines and not our welfare? It is actually quite shocking. Do you know just how serious diabetes is? At any age, it is worth learning how to care for yourself. This book, along with Lance Armstrong's "Cancer Fitness," is changing my life. My doctor is amazed by my stats, all of which went from terrible to not-so-good to GREAT in less than four months.
