This tortilla shell maker (set of 4) provides a great option for serving salads, chilli, tacos .... just about anything. And you get to enjoy a crispy treat too! I chose the smaller set as recommended by another reviewer because you can use it to make any size, and you get 4 shell makers (the excess just sticks out the top of the maker). I just made delicious 12" sun dried tomato shells with no problem. I also used another reviewer's technique to get the shells extra crisp: spray the shells with Pam and take the shells out when they are almost done: put them back in the oven without the form for a couple more minutes .... this makes them super crisp. The only negative I experienced was that there were no directions whatsoever in the box: absolutely nothing. If I hadn't read the Amazon reviews before I ordered, I wouldn't have known how to make the shells: put them in the form and bake for 8-10 minutes at about 375 degrees. THANK GOD FOR AMAZON REVIEWERS!!!!
I now have 6 of them which 6 is perfect for the oven. This set of 4 have 6 falutes in the edges while the Norpro's have 8 falutes. Metal thickness and finish are the same on either. If given a choice between the two, I would take this set of 4 over Norpro's set of 2 and just check out the instructions online.
My instructions would be to lightly oil the tortillas with a brush on both sides and bake at 350 degrees for about 8 minutes till slightly golden directly on the oven rack, no cookie pan underneath. Let them cool a few minutes and they pop right out. They were just right and we loved them!
I tried 8" flour tortillas which fit exactly and 6" flour tortillas which were smaller. I assume the 10" would be most awesome for taco salads. I will try 10" next.
Have not used oil, as they've turned out quite crisp without it. I did follow another user's suggestion that you prick them here and there with a fork to prevent bubbles. (Do this before putting them in the pan, to avoid scratching.) Also to avoid scratching, store them with coffee filters or whatever in between, or save the original little baggies they came in.

Edited: I did contact the seller who has promised a full refund, which was nice of them - I would have rathered that the pans worked, but can’t fault the customer service!
Put your tortillas at 375F for 10-13 minutes with dry beans in it to prevent them from inflating and let cool down. Enjoy!
