I read this book on the recommendation of a friend, who said it taught that fear can cause a great deal of sickness. But while I found out that it does teach that the fear of Biblical wisdom can be detrimental to one’s health due to bacterial contagions and infectious diseases, the book lacks any large section dedicated to practical suggestions on healing outside of the basic practice of washing one’s hands and not touching sick or dead people.

So, while there is ample discussion about the biblical practices of quarantine and carefully washing one’s hands in the elimination of epidemics, there is very little discussion in this book about the causes of most chronic diseases that develop over time due to poor eating habits, lack of exercise, and a lack of bodily detoxification principles.The discussion on heart disease was also rudimentary, and did not offer a full picture of how to treat this or any other non-bacterial cause of disease such as diabetes or cancer.

In addition, outside of its discussion on the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous about the importance of a belief in and reliance on God in avoiding bad habits, it does not really advocate Bible study, repentance, prayer, anointing oil, and a laying on of hands in the process of finding miraculous healing and deliverance from demonic power. In short, this book is somewhat useless as a guide to improving one’s overall physical or spiritual health, and remaining free of chronic diseases. That disappointed me since so many people today suffer from chronic rather than infectious diseases.

This book is proof of the Bible's inspiration also.

Although, the 1st 9 chapters were interesting the book took a disappointing swing. Seven chapters devoted to sexuality is a bit too much. The author was unnecessarily repetitive and truly could have summed it all up in 1 chapter at the most 2. I wish he would have gone into more detail on other topics and expanded the disease list.

In fact the world is more likely to ridicule, insult, make fun off, run down, questions ones theories and in general drive those away that would awaken it to stop the needless loss of lives. This book also shows what most people already knew, namely that the wealthy have no interest whatever in the health of poorer people. As long as the rich and well born are proected from disease ad squalor they could care less about the lack of snaitation and how disease spreads and threatens everyone. It gives the Bibles take on how man is to handle those who are sick or have a terrible disease.The Great Pjusician has given us health rules to observe ad keep.

I just read this while vacationing for a few days. I enjoyed the historical discoveries in medicine and science vs the Bible guidance that existed long before. Great lessons and stories with many great messages. I did not find the last 2 chapters of much value to a Christian and they were a weak testimony to the non-believer. This book will be a disappointment if you are looking for a medical book of little known medical help from the Bible. This book mainly points out how historical and present mankind ignores truth when it is not convenient and suffers for this kind of mistake. These mistakes continue into the 21st century showing that society - no matter how intelligent - is still mob rules when they don't like the inconvenient answers and guidance of Godly living and morality.

This book is sooooo out of date in the medical sciences that's it's really not worth reading. If they update it, it would be a fun book to read. I also don't think they should try to delve into the science of homosexuality, too much is still not known. The original book was great at a time when not as as much was known and most of it has stay relevant because they talked about what was known. It's when they tried to add new ideas to the old book that it really got off track.

This book is an excellent review of the Biblical guidance for healthly living as handed down by Moses, the Phrophets, and the Apostles. It is amazing to see how man could have served each other better and survived longer individually if they had simply followed the Biblical rules on cleanliness, sexual relations, drinking booze ( and taking durgs) and generally living a healthy, holy life style. Good book, easy to read, well documented, stands on the science of health care and the Biblical message. I recommend it for everyone.

I still haven't sat down and read the whole book properly but just dipping into it, has resulted in large chunks of it already having been read! It is un-put-downable. It is full of fascinating information & insights.

Although I first heard about the book many years ago, this is the first time I've actually read it. Interestingly its not exactly what I expected. I thought it would be about healing, but it is primarily about the influence of lifestyle choices on health. (Given the biblical context from which the title is taken, I'm not sure why I made the mistake!)

It tackles some controversial issues and not all readers will agree with every word written. But these are opinions & conclusions not just reached out of biblical insight but also from much medical knowledge & experience. At the very least, they are worth considering with an open mind.
