Most if the time I sell my text books after I complete my classes, this is not one of them. This book is awesome and Andersen does a fantastic job of making you think. I remember watching people at the park and writing a paper of the relationship between parents and their children just by body language. After which I interviewed some of the parents and what I learned was amazing. Highly recommended for personal studies for amy field of work.

This books is extremely informative about the subject of nonverbal communication. It covers cognitive functions, involuntary expressions and movements, signs, aggressiveness, facial cues, cultural boundaries, emotional intelligence, body codes, body positions, distances, sex differences, etc. It is one of the most insightful books ever written on the subject to date. The only problem is that it was written with an upper division communication major student audience in mind. San Diego State University has one of the highest ranked communication undergraduate programs in the country and thus you can expect the reading to be structured to that environment. For this reason if you are just an average Jane or Joe you may find this book a bit of a difficult read. Even though it might be a bit complex it is still well worth the reading. You will gain a lot from a real college textbook on the subject, written by one of the most well known scholars in the field. This book is a real guide to learning nonverbal communication unlike so many cheap "body language" books you can find on the web.
