I work outside on cable lines, the heat where I live has been killing me- especially in those cotton blend khakis and my company doesn't have a lot of women at the moment that work in the field so the pants offered are limited and uncomfortable. So needless to say I was looking for something light and something that wouldn't cling to me while I sweat.
I will be ordering again soon!! Thanks so much!!
First and foremost, I am tall and most pants don't fit me. The tall size was the perfect length and the sizing is as expected.
The fabric has a very slight stretch to it that allows it to move with you. It has a more "rugged" feel to it than pants not designed for hiking, but that's important when having to climb down steep bits of trail and/or scrambling up and/or sitting on rocks. There are no signs of early wear on this fabric.
I took these pants with me on a trip back east because they are light and easy to pack. I wore them roaming the streets of Washington DC, hiking the AT in West Virginia, the Maryland Heights overlook and Great Falls in Virginia. I wore them again when I got home to hike in Olympic National Forest.
Roomy cargo pockets mean I don't need to carry a purse/bag when navigating transit/walking through a crowded city. The Velcro cargo pocket holds my Galaxy S9 (not a small phone) perfectly and the zipper pocket is perfect for ID, train pass, credit cards, etc...
I took a chance on a brand I've never heard of because the name brand pants are ridiculously expensive. I'm glad I did..
For reference, I'm about 5'6", 175Ibs, curvy & athletic. I was looking for a comfortable, looser fit and the XL was perfect for me. I probably could've fit into an L if I wanted a more snug fit.
I am 5'3” tall and weigh between 160 and 165 pounds. I bought both the large and the medium, thinking that because I normally wear a 12 on the bottom, I would need a large. It turns out that in this particular pair of pants, the medium 30 inch length pants fit perfect. The waist has partial elastic, so you can easily bend and move. There is also no pinching when you sit down.
On the day of my field trip to the climbing course, it was very cold and wet. I was able to easily wear a thin pair of warm wear pants underneath these, and managed to stay warm and comfortable throughout the day. They also helped to keep me dry when climbing through wet areas. I absolutely loved the two pockets. I felt like my camera and cell phone we're both stuck here throughout the day as I would take them out and put them back into the pockets. I also really liked how deep the front pockets are. Sometimes in women's pants, the pockets are just too short to hold anything. These are made of a breathable mesh, and comfortably fit my entire hand.
The only issue I had with these pants is that there was some type of plastic sewn into the area where the cargo pocket was on my leg. It scratched up my leg until I was able to realize what was going on and remove it. I had assumed that it was something about the seam, however something was sewn in with the thread. Overall, I would highly recommend these pants to anyone looking for comfortable hiking pants that really stand up to a work out.
**Update! The button went flying off on a recent hike, so I will probably order a new pair, but I’m not thrilled with the price increase since I first purchased.
