I can't trust this manufacturer any more. There is this mysterious, pungent, black goo inside the bottle (see picture) and who knows if it is some strange bacteria that will make my kids sick. What kind of quality control procedures are in place that would allow such an obvious hazard make it through to reach the consumer? Exactly why I can't buy any more Nordic Natural products.

My kids love these and like other reviews said, ask to take them. The only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is the serving size is 4 gummies. Most of the vitamins I have tried with my kids are one or two pills a day. I will continue to give my kids these because they really love them. I just wanted people to know that due to the serving size, the bottle doesn't last as long as you think.

First of all I think that it's always a scam when a vitamin requires you to eat 4 a day. That means the bottle of 200 is really only a bottle of 50 days of vitamins. 2nd. There are 6 grams of sugar! EEEWWW I don't buy vitamins to give my kids sugar. On top of that if you are doing the Nordic Omega's and the D-3 your sugars from vitamins alone are 10 grams of sugar from supplments. :(

For the last 2 years I have been giving my 4 year old these berries. He loves them and we trusted Nordic Naturals.
Over the past few weeks, there has been a lot of attention given to the fact that rice syrup is highly contaminated with arsenic.
Nordic berries are sweetened with rice syrup solids so I approached the company about it.
Judge for yourself but I am going to hold off on these until I get more satisfactory answers:

From Nordic Naturals after my call inquiring about arsenic in their multi-vitamins:

We have run an arsenic analysis on our berries in the past and the total Arsenic level has never reached 1% of the standard set in California. Our QA manager is supremely confident there is no concern about arsenic in the Nordic Berries. The amount of brown rice syrup solids in the Berries is less than 0.5% per serving and the levels found in the past are barely detectable.

A recent article in Consumer Reports was focused on Inorganic Arsenic, which is much more dangerous than Organic Arsenic, so our QA manager has sent out a sample to be tested for Inorganic Arsenic. As soon as we have that result I will share it with you.

This was my response so I could review the information she provided on my own:

Thanks a ton for keeping me in the loop. I have a couple of questions about your email.
When you ran the arsenic analysis in the past, what was the actual arsenic number found? Also what California standard are we talking about - what number is the standard?

Here is their answer:

Unfortunately, pollution is a reality and removing all of it from the food source is not always possible.

We've tried many different kids vitamins and supplemented as our kids are picky eaters and need the additional support. None have stood the consistent use like these have. I have a cupboard full of dried up gummies and chalky animal shapes that they won't take. I chose Nordic Naturals after the advice of a naturalist friend because I was seeking a product that was not only good tasting but full of premium ingredients. My kids ages 6-13 love the flavor and I love that they are a good choice! I may have tried them myself and they are tasty! if you've been looking, I'd stop here... You won't be disappointed.

These are a delicious, sweet and citrus vitamin. They have a sugary coating on the outside and do not have ANY vitamin taste whatsoever. They have as strong sweet orange flavor that I actually like and my kids all loved. It's like eating a sweet and sour gummy candy.

They were recommended by my doctor, whom I highly respect and trust. (that's saying a lot from someone who has Lyme Disease and has been to every doctor in our town and fired them all... then moved on to my amazing Lyme Doc. ) He even sells them in his office, that's how much he backs them up.
