Excellent for daily use, I put it in my tea every morning along with coconut oil. I've been using it for almost three months (at around double the recommended serving) and my ADHD symptoms have improved significantly. It's become easier to stay on task, balance different parts of a busy schedule, and maintain emotional stability.
On a more technical level, consistent use seems to be improving my brain's executive function, which has been lacking for most of my life. I've tried other compounds to help with that, but most end up being stimulants in one form or another and they give a forced feeling of focus that wears off after a while. From what I've read, ADHD is correlated with low levels of dopamine and norepinephrine in certain regions of the brain. Drugs like Adderall and Ritalin are designed to boost those neurochemicals, but the they do it everywhere via a stimulant effect, which alleviates some negative symptoms but creates others. Personally, I've used a supplement called "True Focus" which contains the amino acids required to create dopamine and norepinephrine, providing a milder boost. Even so, it's still a stimulant effect and I've been looking for something that can at least be a partial alternative.
I can't say I understand the neurochemistry of omega-3's as they relate to my situation, but they seem to help restore proper function so that I'm producing dopamine and norepinephrine in the right areas without raising levels overall in my brain. I still take a stimulant from time to time, but it's not a necessity like it used to be. Definitely worth a try if you've had similar issues!
