How It’s Made: Cast Griddles
Cast aluminum griddles arrive from the die casting facility with sharp, burred edges. Over the decades, our metal fabrications department has perfected the way in which we process castings to ensure smooth, quality parts that you'll be proud to have in your kitchen. Here, our griddles are shown in the routing machine. The perimeter of each griddle is trimmed and smoothed by a rotating bit, and the inside of each handle is trimmed out. The bits of scrap that come from this process are recycled, which contributes to our overall effort toward manufacturing sustainability and eliminating waste.

Please note this is NOT dishwasher safe, the product description does not explicitly call this out. The Nordic Ware site says "Dishwasher use is not recommended, as it may shorten the life of the nonstick coating." Obviously this is not an issue when camping but may matter if you plan to use it at home.
I first purchased the Lodge LPGI3 cast iron griddle but ended up returning it as I didn't find it very practical for camping. It was a bit of a monster at 13 lbs and lugging it around and cleaning it (not non-stick) would be a bit of a chore. The Lodge does have a reversible grill and is way more durable, but in the end I went with the Nordic Ware for ease of use.

Fits on Camp Chef Everest, not dishwasher safe

I was looking for a griddle to take camping that fit on my Camp Chef Everest 2-burner stove. This fits nicely but could be an inch wider on each side. It's great for camping since it's light (3.69 lbs), heats up fast, and the non-stick makes it easy to clean, though you can't use metal cooking utensils. I was able to wipe off the grease with paper towels followed by a final wipe with damp paper towels and it was fine. I read it may warp under high heat so I kept the burners at low/medium and didn't have any issues. The cooking surface does not heat evenly as it gets hotter over the burners compared to the cooler zone in the middle, but overall worked really well.By Michael S Chang on August 25, 2018

This product should really be marketed a a camping griddle. It fits a standard camp stove perfectly, and the raised edges prevent a lot of spilling. I actually bought a cast iron griddle at first- but the weight and difficulty of cleaning didnt make sense for camping. This is so much better.
