This pan worked very well! As other reviewers suggested, I put a small cast iron skillet on it to prevent overflow. I was happy with the ease of cleaning; actually, pleasantly surprised! I will definitely be using this to make an Easter cake.

I found most cakes are 3 cups of mixture. Don't be afraid to fill to level. You do need to use a mixture with a denser crumb, if you are making a boxed recipe and not from scratch use a pound cake mix. Otherwise just select a denser cake from your library, there is a recipe for chocolate that comes with it. If you frost it, the bunny goes from super cute to Frank from Donnie Darko...if you have to cover it maybe do a candy drip?

This really is a 3-D mold! We used it to make 3-D rabbits as targets for our archery club, filling with a mixture of sturdy insulation foam with a variety of colors and putting a wooden stake in the base. I guess it's too late to bake a cake with it now. We have been able to produce many rabbits with just this one mold.

Its cute, but its enclosed tin means that cake comes out too moist (burnt on the ears, unbaked in center). Beware leakage from too much batter. Good for banana bread (take lid off for last third of cooking), or maybe bread, where you can place item out of tin to dry at end of cooking. Not recommended, because hard to make a decent cake it in, although very cute. One of those items that will just clog up your kitchen cupboard and contribute to your uber-consumerism!

The 1 recipe provided is for a smaller cake pan. I used a box came mix and as it expanded, it puffed out of the pan. The resulting cake could not be propped into an upright position. This pan is very nice but the manufacturer needs to include a few correctly proportioned recipes for this pan. It is larger than the lamb mold but the enclosed recipe for each pan was the same.
