Nordic Ware Platinum Collection Bundt Pans
Prepare the Pan
Using a pastry brush, grease the pan thoroughly with solid shortening and dust with flour. Or, use a baking spray that does not contain lecithin. Be sure to coat all the crevices in the pan so the cake will release easily and the design will be sharply defined.
Filling the Pan
Spoon the batter into the pan slowly to prevent the formation of air bubbles. Tap the pan 3 times gently on a work surface to release any bubbles that may have developed and ensure the batter reaches all crevices in the design. Using a rubber or silicone spatula, spread the batter so the sides are slightly higher than the center. The cake will bake more evenly and be less likely to form peaks.
Baking the Cake
Bake in a pre-heated oven for the time indicated on the recipe.
Removing the Cake from the Pan
Transfer the pan to a wire rack and let the cake cool upright in the pan for 10 minutes. Then tap the pan firmly a few times and shake it gently to help loosen the cake. Invert the pan onto a cooling rack and allow to cool completely.
A simple glaze or dusting of powdered sugar will show off the details of the cake design.
How It's Made
Our beloved Bundts are produced with lots of hand touch and care, ensuring that they will last for a lifetime. We've perfected this process over the past seven decades--there is a lot of science behind created the best Bundts on earth! At the die casting facility, molten aluminum at temperatures of over 1200 degrees F is ladled into a chamber where an arm rapidly pushes the liquid aluminum into the die (mold). This takes place in a fraction of a second, and the aluminum solidifies as it hits the cooler mold. The two halves of the mold open up, releasing a very hot but solid aluminum Bundt pan.
The pans have razor sharp 'flash', or left over aluminum, that is protruding from the perimeter of each pan. The flash is trimmed to a rough perimeter before the pans are sent to our main processing facility. There, they undergo a series of secondary finishing processes, including vibratory deburring in a chamber of ceramic pebble, shot blasting with stainless media to 'roughen' the parts, and a perimeter routing in a CNC machine to smooth the edges and trim out handles. Next, they are thoroughly washed, and then sent to coatings to be sprayed and cured with PFOA-free premium nonstick. By the time a Bundt pan has left our factory, it has been touched by nearly two dozen sets of hands, ensure that you're receiving the best Bundt pan in the world.
70 Years of Innovation
With wife Dotty at his side, Dave Dalquist returned from WWII to start a business. From humble beginnings in a basement, Nordic Ware has become an internationally distributed kitchenware brand with a variety of product lines, hundreds of products and millions of fans. 1946 to 2016-- we've been in business 70 years! Did you know we've now sold 70 million Bundt pans?
Still family owned and operated in the US, the company is honored to occupy a place in the new Food History exhibit at the Smithsonian in Washington, DC. Last fall, Nordic Ware was chosen for the prestigious 2015 Minnesota Manufacturing Award for Sustainability, which firms we work hard to minimize our environmental footprint. Our company moves into 2016 poised for the future, with last year setting an all time record in sales volume and production efficiency.

The 60th Anniversary Pan closely replicates Nordic Ware's first cast aluminum pan, which accommodates 10-15 cup recipes. This pan's versatile size, shape and crisp details work well with present day 10-15 cup Bundt mixes and recipes because of the narrow base, straight sides and extra large center tube. It's a staple for any kitchen. Made of durable cast aluminum providing superior baking performance. Distinctive gold, premium non-stick interiors allow for quick release and easy clean up. Heat reflective silver platinum exteriors ensure uniform browning. Proudly made in the USA by Nordic Ware.
This classic tube-cake bundt pan is round with vertical flutings alternating between sharp/narrow and rounded/wide. Detail remains intact thanks to the pan's heavy, cast-aluminum sturdiness, which promotes even baking. Try butter bundt cake with caramel and chocolate sauce (recipe included), and the pan's capacity to create fine crusts is enticingly demonstrated. The mold holds 10- to 15-Cup of batter, enough to make a festive cake for 10 to 12 people. This rust- and warp-resistant pan has a long life expectancy. The nonstick coating ensures cakes, breads, frozen desserts, and gelatin desserts and salads pop out with their pretty flutings intact. --Fred Brack

I've made 4 rum cakes with this and they've come out perfect every time. For my rum cakes, I cool the pan in the fridge then use a pastry brush to coat the inside of the pan with shortening. I then use powdered sugar instead of flour to "flour" the pan. So far I have had no cakes stick.
I like the dramatic, deep swirls of this pan. I tried to get three different flavors and looks by alternately 'striping'-in chocolate, orange, and vanilla batters. When baked and unmolded, the chocolate was beautifully dark and different looking. However, despite putting orange coloring into the batter (to differentiate it from the vanilla), the two tones were nearly identical. The cake can be glazed or dusted with 10X sugar.
There is only one point that doesn't please me. When placed on a plate, the tips of the swirls (the bottom of the cake) have a sharp, jagged appearance. It almost makes it look unfinished. This is just my perspective and should in no way be taken as a negative about the pan.
Nordic Ware is a brand you can trust. I have had two other Nordic Ware Bundt pans for many, many years and I've always been pleased with their products. Whether this is your first Bundt pan, or an addition to your collection, you will be pleased with the look and compliments of the Nordic Ware Platinum Collection Heritage Bundt Pan.
BTW, bakers. Please encourage Amazon to bring back the 4 for 3 promotion in baking pans. It was a wonderful way to fill the cupboard with beautiful pans at a reasonable price and I miss that promotion greatly.
I would not advise trying to flour and butter this pan, because in order for you to get it done well enough for the cake not to stick you would need quite a but and then end up with flour on the outside of your cake or have a bready tasting outside instead of a nicely browned (or red in my case for the first use with it)delicious outer crust.
I used a commercial baking spray and even with baking spray don't get to carried away b/c then you run the risk of leaving holes in the outside of your cake. Spray your pan right before pouring in the batter and alleviate all that pain and suffering, lol
Either way it baked perfect. Even though it says a 10 cup capacity, my wilton pan says 10 cup and holds about a cup more batter than this one so be mindful of that if you have a large recipe cake.
Either way, I had fun the pan is beautiful and I am very very happy to have found this one to add to my collection :-)
