Haven't used it yet, but after reading instructions it says heat on moderate heat and let cool after use. For all you 1 star ratings, who warped it, your fault not he griddle. Love Nordic Ware products,well made and will last for years.

When I first got the pan, it spun around on the burner of my flat top stove, which was not great. But after I looked at the bottom, and saw that it was a little concave, I hit it on the heal of my hand, and it flattened out. Now it sits flat and works Great! I love it for bacon or sausage and eggs!

I picked this after sorting through the lot of square griddles- most of which have one gripe or another, and it's worked out great. I use it on a gas stove at home and when camping for breakfast constantly and it's held up fine. It's weighted well to stay upright and cooks pretty evenly, provided you let it preheat on moderate heat first. The nonstick performs excellently as well. The handle guard is thick, making it difficult to hang up, but it's removable and the pan can be used in the oven without it. Overall, a good piece of made in America cookware.

The griddle is really very well made and just the right size for 4 pancakes or pieces of french toast to be cooked at the same time. I was concerned about the non stick coating having heard that some can be dangerous if they ever peel. So I called Nordicware and was told that the coating is completely inert and safe to cook with posing no danger at all in the case of accidental human consumption.

The handle is attached very well to the griddle and the raised sides help contain any liquid that may run to the edge.

I did the dry cook burned egg test and the burned egg came up very easily.
