It arrived on time a few days ago, bulky and heavy as expected. There was a big tear on one side of the box, but I felt inside and nothing appeared to have been damaged, so I let them drop it off. Later when I opened it up in the garage I noticed nearly all the heavy duty staples they use to secure the box were either missing or not securing it closed. Made me wonder if it had been re-boxed; a return or maybe tested prior to sending, who knows? Overall disappointed with the packaging, the contents should have been much more securely placed and protected for an item at this price level.
I cut the box open in the garage and laid out the parts. All the hardware (screws/washers etc.) were sealed in a pack, so nothing missing, I didn’t check all the big parts until we assembled it but they were all there as it turned out and none were damaged.
I put the stabilizers on in the garage and two of us moved it into the house. Actually we didn’t find it that heavy, just those few parts assembled together were quite manageable for us. We then assembled all the rest in the house. Overall once we had the base inside I reckon 1 ½ hours at a leisurely pace and after a few glasses of wine, so not bad. Just be careful to read the instructions and check the parts (I made a couple of errors along the way but we caught them and put them right, just screw and washer choices.
My wife tried it out and there was a bit of a noise, not much, but I tightened a few screws and all seems about right, fairly smooth and not noisier than I would have expected, after all there’s a lot of moving hardware, and it isn’t a Rolls Royce.
I got no time or distance update on the console. After messing around with it I read the manual and looked at the reed switch position. I adjusted it, no dice! I chased the cable that goes from the switch to the circuit board and found the plug wasn’t pushed in properly, voila, it worked.
If anyone from Nordic reads these – you need to get the assembly guys to be more careful tie-wrapping the cables, mine was tight and I think that’s what pulled the plug out of the board. Also the screw holding the large disc ring was ‘bodged’ i.e. it wasn’t the correct one. The other two were ‘sheet metal screws’ the third wasn’t…
So I guess time will tell how we fare. Best of luck any of you that purchase.
I got it on a daily deal, so the price was great and delivery was smooth. It's a large box and fairly heavy so it had to be delivered by freight. Assembly was time consuming but not difficult. The only issue I had there was getting the plastic bezel above the wheel assembly to get seated properly and snap together tight.
The main issue I had was that it was creaking on one side and making a thumping sound when inclined. At first it seemed to just be on the left side, but after a few short workouts seemed to be coming from under the pedals. I thought perhaps a bad bearing at first but then wondered if it was stress on the ramp. The part the sound was coming from was pre-assembled so I don't think it was anything I did in the assembly process. I also believed I lubed everything properly according to the instructions and website.
The unit was fairly smooth otherwise, but the sound was aggravating. My only othere concern was that the handles hit my forearms while holding the stationary heart rate monitors. It has to do with the angling of the handles and spacing around the console.
As stated above, my expectations weren't high based on the price point and the fact that this is an entry level machine. It may not bother someone else,
but that noise was a deterrent for me
I ended up returning it and think next time I'll just spend more, and get a higher end unit.
