I wanted to replace a rubber half spatula that hardened over time and had lost it's flexibility with a silicone one. I have a red silicone spoon and full size spatula with metal handles from Chefmate that I just love. Couldn't match that but this was a good second choice. It is 10-3/8" in length. The silicone portion is 4-1/8" in length and the handle is clear plastic making up the 6-1/4" length. It says it is high heat resistant to 500 degrees Farenheit or 260 degrees Centrigrade. There is a hole in the handle which allows it to hang from a hook or be placed in a utensil container. I haven't tried it with peanut butter so I don't know how it would do with a firmer substance but I can tell you it is a great jar spatula for anything like mayonnaise, pasta sauce, etc. It is able to reach all the various curved areas and is long enough to maintain a good grip. I purchased LeCreuset mini spatula for cans such as tomato paste or sauce. It's 2-5/8" length is better for cans because it is small enough not to cut up the silicone on the sharp edges of the can. Both are approximately 14/16ths of an inch in width which is great for small openings. Would highly recommend.

This scraper is so durable, it is still in good condition after 8 years. It is perfect for scrapping out all that remains in the bottom of jam jar, and for scraping out any kind of batter from your mixing bowl or blender. I would recommend it.

I bought this because I was always throwing away product. It is so difficult to get the last of stuff out of bottles and jars so I thought I would get this to try. I used it the first day I got, works great. I used it on a small bottle of cocktail sauce that was almost empty and I scraped it clean! No wasted product, finally something that works. I gave it a 4 star rating only because the handle concerns me slightly. It seems like it might not be real sturdy and may not hold up as long as it should, like it might break if used a lot. Time will tell. If it does, I'll update to let you all know.

10/27/14 update...used over a year maybe 10 times and still going strong, hasn't broken yet.
