Melts too easily. Don’t buy

So after 3 uses with minor wear visible I used it as I nearly dry cooked a pork steak. I can’t recommend this utensil. It is 80 percent wonderful, but 20 percent melty mess. The plastic melted when used to lift a nicely and lightly charred piece of meat. There are food safe plastics for high heat, wish they’d use them. As is, this is not “my favorite spatula”.
Update: went to process a return. It’s not 30 days yet. But Amazon rejects the attempt, as “ineligible for return.”

I love the length, and I use it for everything from crepes to fried eggs. My only complaint is that food sticks to it, like glue. Eggs especially. Not the easiest to clean. I'm also skeptical of the claim of 500 degree use. This feels like nylon. Nylon does not withstand temps that high. It serves a purpose, but I don't expect the durability to be very good. UPDATE 7/2016: They do not withstand heat. Over time, plastic melts off the edges and sheds into food. These are NOT resistant to the heat of cooking, despite the claims. Over potential health concerns, I have thrown both of these spatulas away. You may get six months of use from them, depending on the temps you cook at. Will try a silicone, high temp spatula next if I can find one.

First, this is a great little spatula. Just the right size. It'll become your go-to item, especially if you enjoy using non-stick pans, which can be scratched by metal utensils.
However, I ordered a three-pack of these spatulas the first week of December ... and although they were originally promised well ahead of Christmas, the order was "delayed" multiple times, and they arrived too late to serve as stocking stuffers. Bummer. When it became apparent that these would not arrive in time, I tried to cancel the order and was not allowed to do so. The real surprise here, the seller is in my own state ... so distance wasn't an issue.
Would buy the product again ... from a different seller.

If I misread the description and this spatula was only meant for cool/cold things, then disregard this review. If, however, you intend to use it to turn eggs or other foods in a skillet you might be better off to find something else. Mine melted on the end the first time I used it to loosen and flip eggs. I trimmed the melted area, hoping it was just a minor defect but it melted more on the next use.

Just received them. I was excited to use them this weekend. I liked the thin shape and thought it would work well with my cast iron griddle and nonstick egg pan. I cook with medium heat and very little oil. it worked great and it flipped my eggs and hash browns easily. However when I was cleaning up I noticed that the leading edge was melted and chewed away leaving a non straight edge. Not very good quality. I don't recommend this item at all and advise not to waste your money on this item To make it worse when I tried to return it, Amazon said that the item was ineligible for returns. Oh well lesson learned, stay away from the cheap stuff. I am also disappointed with Amazon for not backing up this item. They really should do a little bit of quality control. The seller and Amazon made their money and the consumer got stuck holding the bag. Very bad experience for me.

Not impressed - Review update

I don’t know if it is heat or the small amount of butter I use to brown refried-precooked potatoes but the edge degrades, becoming less effective at slipping between the hot pan surface and, in my case the potato slices. After less than a dozen uses I have had to use a sharp knife bleaker to shave the damaged edge. I am looking for an alternate product.

Update... my earlier issue seems to be temperature related. When browning and frying potatoes and eggs it is difficult even with gas to keep the pan surface temperature below the max temperature this spatula is designed for. After cleaning up the heat damage to the spatula and lowering the cooking temperature to below 350 F, there has been no further problem with the heat damage... it is mor difficult to properly cook and brown the potatoes and I have had to move back to a wooden utensil to scramble and cook eggs.

No change in rating and I am still looking for a better spatula for my purposes. But if you are cooking with medium to low heat, it does not appear you would have the problem I have had with this product.

Have always been satisfied with Norpro products, but not this time. Bought this as a replacement for
what I thought was the identical spatula, but am very disappointed. The end of the spatula melts; strings of plastic ooze off; melted plastic builds up at the tip. So, unusable. But by the time I did use it, the return window had closed. I wrote to the company, thinking this might just be a faulty item. I asked for a replacement or a refund or a credit. The reply advised me to go to Amazon. ...so, a disappointment all the way around. Certainly cannot recommend.

Small, but No Heat Resistance

I was looking for a nylon spatula that was less than 3 inches wide. I found this one. I did notice quite a few reviews complaining about poor heat resistance. I disregarded those reviews, figuring people were exposing the spatula to high heat, but those people were right. I was surprised when a tiny piece of this spatula melted off after the first use. I cooked a grilled cheese sandwich. I then cut the sandwich in half while it was still in the pan. The burner was off. This resulted in a piece of the spatula breaking off and lodging in my sandwich. So while I really like how narrow this spatula is--it's good for small pans--it really cannot withstand any heat. It's hard to find a narrow spatula, so I'll just be more mindful when using this. It did a great job getting brownies out of a square pan...once the pan was completely cool.

I bought this spatula to replace the same product purchased in a restaurant supply store years ago. The quality of this product is nowhere near the same as the original. It’s definitely not heat resistant and has melted slightly every time I’ve used it. The plastic seems more brittle/less flexible than the original as well. This product is either a total fake or the company has really let the quality slip over the years. Really disappointing as the original was one of my favourite kitchen tools.
