I live on the Big Island of Hawaii, covered in lava rock. Shoes don't last long here. I have hope for these... Amazon prime is the ony way to go for us in the middle of the Pacific.
They have a nice fit and look quite robust. The only grudge I do have is that they didn't protect me against moisture during a rain (mind I did not step into pools or whatever). When I came home and took them off, the socks were wet on both feet around the toes. While this is no big discomfort I believe they failed to achieve just what they were made for. So, if you want this protection, you might want to look elsewhere.
These shoes fit as expected, but I felt a "hardness" on the spot on the sole where the ball of my foot rests. I figured they'd break in after a week or so, but they never did. I've now logged about 200 miles on them and I think I've given up on them. Since there seems to be a bit of inconsistency with the North Face shoes I'll likely not buy another pair online.
