When she discovers her son is missing, her entire world trembles— until her husband’s best friend appears at her door. Secretly in love with Abby for years, Frank Machado is determined to see JD back in his mother’s arms. Sparks fly, hearts warm, love—and Christmas—are in the air. Should they Blame it on Mistletoe? If Only In My Dreams – Jilted in North Pole, Alaska, café owner Amelia Beckett’s bad man-karma has struck again! She wants out of this cutesy town—until a snarling, injured fox in her backyard sends her running to strong, silent neighbor and café regular, Wes Curtis. Wes moved to Alaska after his wife died, not expecting he’d need to brush up admittedly rusty dating skills so soon. But moonlit nights spent helping beautiful, skittish Amelia and the fox relax and heal make him determined to convince Amelia she belongs in Alaska—with him What Child is This? - Hope Grayson’s six-year-old daughter clearly wants a daddy for Christmas. Eli Thompson has never forgotten Hope, realizing just how much he’s missed her. When he unexpectedly shows up to help in the clinic, Hope is stunned. She wants to protect her daughter and her heart, but is it possible Eli is the perfect Christmas present for them both?

I was also born and raised in a small town near Fairbanks. Although most of you probably think that's at the end of God's earth, I wouldn't live anywhere else. Romance doesn't happen in our town as reliably and adorably as it does in my fictional series, but still a wonderful place.

Most of my time is spent writing and raising two fabulous kids (does anyone ever say they're raising totally average children?), but I also love cooking, needlework and old movies (got to survive the long, dark winters here somehow!). My wonderful husband and my beautiful husky Apache take up the rest of my day. I love reading romance and women's fiction of all kinds, and will throw a good mystery in once in a while just because I can.

Love these holiday reads. They are quick and easy reads that put you in the holiday spirit.

I really wanted to like these books because i LOVE the premise. I love the town and all the quirky little people in it. Problem is that i Did NOT like either women. The little boy in the first book repeats things that he has heard from his mom, and it's pretty rude stuff.Like that the neighbor was a Christmas nut and dragged her husband to put up christmas crap. If your're making her a scrooge type that's fine. But shes not, she touts to love all things christmas after that. Her son is also really disrespectful. Not in a cute way either...just plain rude to adults. Then the women in the second book is pretty shallow, and only gives her neighbor a second look once he's shaved his beard. She also wants to give diet advice to a hefty older man...although she is obsessed with a donut machine and makes a 3 cheese grilled cheese sandwich...and is the owner of a cafe.
The only thing i can think of is that maybe the writer of these books is a little full of herself and judgmental and finds nothing wrong with these things. But to me, it doesn't make the characters likable...which made the books a flop.
Also, I am all about cheesy romance novels where people fall in love fast and not realistic, but there is WAY too much inner dialogue. Which ultimately makes things rushed because the last 3 pages the women goes from a firm "no" to , yes I'll marry you. I think with less inner dialogue, maybe the writer can devote a couple chapters to the ending so it doesn't feel so rushed.
