Superyard Colorplay, 8 panel
The North States Colorplay 8 panel is an excellent solution for creating a safe play area for your child, both indoors or outdoors. The brightly-colored, 8 panel yard encloses up to 34.4 square feet ~ that’s 7 feet corner to corner ~ and is 26 inches high. This yard is larger than the Superyard Classic or Superyard Colorplay 6 panel which is 5 ½ feet corner to corner of protected play space.
Setting up the Colorplay 8 panel is easy, the eight interlocking panels are pre-connected. Simply pull the panels out of the box, unfold and connect them together. For added convenience, this yard can be reconfigured to fit a variety of spaces, simply remove panels as needed.
The Colorplay 8 panel includes a convenient carry handle which makes this lightweight yard easy to take anywhere. When using indoors, the included skid-resistant pads keep the Colorplay 8 panel from slipping or scratching floor surfaces. Intended for use with children 6 to 24 months of age. Also can be used for pets ~ just think of the possibilities.
We are proud to manufacture the Colorplay 8 panel and the vast majority of our gates and play yards in the U.S.A.
What’s in the frustration-fee box?

The way it looks doesn't bother me that much; what does bother me is that my son, by the age of 12 months, had learned how to push this thing around. It doesn't anchor to anything, so he started to shove it all over the living room, making it tip and generally creating chaos. My solution was to attach those removable non-marring 3M "Command" hooks to the wall and tie coated wire around them, then lash that wire to the play yard. It doesn't look beautiful, that's for sure, but it works; the play yard doesn't budge any more. If your little one is walking, you too will have to jury-rig a solution to their tendency to push the yard around and even lift it if they're strong enough.
I also recommend you get those colorful interlocking foam tiles to put under the play yard; it makes the play area a bit safer. Amazon sells the "Edushape" brand, but you can get various brands just about anywhere.
All in all, it's not an elegant solution, but weary parents who need a break will love it with all its flaws.
* Huge area for two babies plus an adult - We have the regular 6-sided superyard with one extension (2 panels), to make it eight sides. The dimensions are 80" x 80" if you use it as an octagon.
* Toy stations can be set up on each corner and toys attached to the sides, including any that would work on a crib. Rotate them frequently to keep your child interested
* A Tiny Love Classic Mobile works great with the Superyard as it's huge, safe to use until they are standing.
* It's big enough to give freedom to your child but small enough to fit in your home.
* 35" wide x 26" inch high panels are easy for an adult to step over. I wouldn't recommend it for a pregnant mom however.
* Easy to clean - can be use indoors or outdoors
* Adaptable panels are great for childproofing - we've used panels to keep kids away from windows and from large TVs, wedging ends between heavy furniture and securing them firmly.
* Extremely durable - we've had this for three years, used it for many playgroups, and several families have borrowed and used it. It still looks new.
* It would be ideal if it had a child-proof gate - the sides are very hard to open and the playard becomes very unsteady once you do this.
* Your child will be able to slide it around if it's not secured. We bought inexpensive interlockable foam pads from BJs, placed the superyard over them, marked along the inside and cut them to size. It won't budge like this.Read more ›
The 8 panel square measures 65" x 65" I think the octagon measures 80" x 80" but again the square just worked better for our room.
I was torn between this play yard and the Summer Infant Play Yard, and did a lot of research before going with the North States. They were the exact same size and price so I could not decide. I went with this one because it is a little shorter at 26" inches high verses the Summer Infant which is 30" high. I am very petite so stepping over the 26" is even a little challenging for me! The Summer Infant play yard has a door which was appealing, but everyone kept reviewing that the door was difficult to open, so they would just step over it. I don't think there's anyway I could step over the 30" height. In my opinion, the 26" is the perfect height.
I wanted this to be portable because I knew I would be using it at a few different locations, it is definitely portable, but takes up a fair amour of space when traveling which is expected. I just kept the box that it came in and always transport it in the box. It took me about 15 minutes to set it up initially, and 6 minutes to fold down. After my second, third, times setting up and folding down I could easily setup in under 1 minute and easily fold down in under 1 minute. I did read a lot of reviews that theirs broke when folding, which you do have to be careful to fold the correct way.Read more ›
The worst part was trying to return them. They were placed in one order, but Amazon shipped them as two. When requesting a 'call tag' to retrieve them, they only picked up one box. The other remained on my front porch. Multiple emails and calls finally rid me of the other gate and I received my refund.
I ended up buying two Kidco Playdens PD10. They connected together in the 8' X 4' configuration I needed (I called Kidco first to make sure), there is two swinging entries, it is very sturdy, it is taller than the Superyard, and they can not climb it. This solution costs more, but was really my only option.
For children of the age where they are challenging their standing and climbing skills, I would keep moving when looking at this product.

Although I kind of know that it's only stable if it's all connected in a 6 or 8 shape, I didn't expect it to be that un-stable in other shape. Read morePublished 1 day ago by Khoa
