Small chux pads are a must for a baby. We use them on top of the changing pad so we don't have to wash the cover every time there is an accident. We also carry them in the diaper bag so any couch (or lap) can be turned into a changing pad.

The second time around, I ordered similar pads from another seller because I assumed they'd be the same and those were a little cheaper. Turns out, they are a little different. We like this brand better because it's softer and seems a little more absorbent. Not a huge difference though, sort of like a preference in paper towels - at the end they all do the job.

Update: Now that our little one is a year old, we don't go through these pads quite as fast. They are still a must on our changing table. Our baby is very squirmy and sometimes it's hard to keep all the mess inside the diaper. If it wasn't for these pads, we'd have to have several changing pad covers and wash they much more frequently.

I really like these chux. I am a new first-time mom, and these have saved me from doing a ton of extra laundry. I use them in several different ways: 1) I used them when I was pregnant as a potential barrier in case my water broke. I left one in each of our cars, one in my purse, and one under our sheets on my bed. I never had to actually use them for this purpose, but it made me feel better knowing they were there. 2) I currently use them on my daughters crib. I placed a waterproof cover on her mattress, and then laid an underpad on top. Over that I placed a fitted sheet. I repeated these layers several times (chux, fitted sheet, chux, fitted sheet), ending with a fitted sheet on top. Now if she spits up or has a blow-out in the middle of the night, I don't have to go fumbling around looking for a clean sheet. I just rip the top layer off and throw it in the hamper, and the next layer is dry. 3) I also lay these underneath her on the changing table to protect the changing pad. If we have an accident during a diaper change, it is easier to simply throw away an underpad than do a load of laundry all the time.
Also, I had to buy a pack of underpads from Target once as I ran out of these. I hated the Target brand. They were full of static and stuck to everything. This brand is so much better. I would recommend these to any new mom. And the small size is perfect for babies.

I use them to put under our baby when changing her. More than 50% of the time she let's out a fountain of pee. These do the job of containing the mess. Nothing gets through the other side. The filling is sufficiently absorbent. They don't fall apart when wet. They're sealed on all 4 sides, so some pee towards the edge won't leak off. Much, much cheaper than the Munchkin-brand changing pads we used before.

We use these in our 3 year old's car seat to help protect from any potty accidents. He refuses to wear pull ups during the day, and he does great 98% of the time. Occasionally, he cannot hold it when we are in the car, and this helps me from having to take his seat out to clean it & wash it every time.
I normally cut this size in half to create two smaller squares instead of one large rectangle. It works wonderfully for my son. So far, he's had three accidents while using these, and I haven't had to wash the cover yet.

** Chux pads are approved by car seat manufacturers & car seat techs for safe use. **

This item was purchased for my parent to line her in-home hospital bed. bThe item was not fully waterproof and caused more trouble as her bedding had to be changed as a result of the pads inefficiency. The major problem was that the lining was not 100% plastic/waterproof to hold fluid. It was more of a thick paper product that eventually absorbed the fluid. I would not recommend this item for the purpose of lining a bed.

As a nurse, I've been familiar with disposable pads for years but wasn't able to find them locally. After looking online, most of the options I saw were the larger pads. I was looking for something small that I could use in my cat carrier in case of an "accident." These were the perfect size and worked just as I wanted.

There are washable waterproof pads, but sometimes it is more convenient to have something disposable. For smaller needs, these are excellent any time you want protection from moisture going through.

These are perfect for my cat carrier and would be great for an infant - especially when traveling. And I can imagine using these to put a paint can on while painting. I usually use newspapers, but larger spills can leak through.

I definitely recommend these when you don't need the larger size disposable pad.

I purchased these for my Chinese Crested pup that is in quarantine right now. He is a very small dog (5 lbs) and his urine leaked through these pads. They are pretty small but that is ok but I have used many pads and I rarely have issues with any leaking especially under the plastic. I would not recommend these to anyone really because they are too this and have nothing to absorb even a small dogs urine. I love my dog but that doesn't mean I want to be cleaning up the tile when he pees in the right spot! I always prefer the washable bed pads to throw away but for situations where you need to dispose of the pad there are much better options that are not that much more expensive. Trust me a few pennies is worth not getting on the floor scrubbing pee.
