I bought this to store my 28lb bag of dog food. It works very well and the mouth is wide enough to easily reach in to get the kibble. However, I did not realize when ordering that the lid has a 1" hole in the top, making it not airtight, meaning I will need to get a plug or seal it some other way. But it's very easy on the eyes, unlike the clunky plastic tubs and metal cans that I had been looking at. I was also concerned for the plastic and metal toxicity so glass was the next best choice. I'm not your average reviewer (using this item outside its purpose) but I would recommend this product.

Lid does not stay shut
The product is really cool and holds a lot of soon to be cider but the lid does not stay on. I have even duct taped it shut and I still go in to check on it and the lid has started to come up. I feel like the lid needs to have a redesign because the lid won't stay down and the burper cork hole is kind of big. I think the size and availability to be able to get inside and clean it are amazing. Just has that 1 flaw.

The glass is good. I love the wide mouth for adding fruits and other ingredients. Can't find any obvious imperfections or week points other than the lid. The lid is terrible! It lifts itself out under it's own pressure. Doesn't lock down and under fermentation pressure it doesn't stand a chance. I turned the lid and got a click and it stayed. Until there was pressure. Tried flipping the seal upside down and did not get a better seal. The pressure pushed it out quickly either way. I had to tape it down. It's a terrible lid design that doesn't work. I resched out to the seller and they told me to try flipping the seal and tried to upsell me on a strap to help keep it down. If you have to flip the seal, it's a bad design to begin with. Also, flipping it didn't work. The 100% satisfaction guarantee is not guaranteed because they know it's a bad design.
Lid design and Cust. Service needs major improvement.
