This is a really sweet Christmas story set in a very unusual location. Not only was the story engaging, but I learned about Scandinavian holiday traditions, too. Lovely.
I gave the book four stars because I think the author should reveal this is the first book of a series.
I loved it! Besides the obvious of two single gay women on an group adventure, who have a mutual attraction. Then the chemistry and the lust that comes through in the writing. The deeper meaning of a special place with special company. This is a must read and am now looking forward to the next chapter.I am a big fan of Lise Gold and have read many of her books.
The main characters are well developed and the background characters make for great fun and actually add great embarrassment after the girls lock themselves outside. We all know that person who just has to ask the questions that embarrass everyone around them and I thought that was played perfectly as well. A great lesbian romance I’m very glad I read.
Hannah and Kristine meet at a resort in Norway over the Christmas holidays. Hannah, a restaurant owner from London and Kristine, a bank manager from Louisiana, continents apart, meet and realize each is the one the other has been looking for. What kind of relationship can possibly form between two women who live in different countries?
I haven't read the next book in the series yet, but I'm about to read it.
The description of the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) is worth the price of this book alone. It was captivating!

Breathtakingly magical, Northern Lights take the reader on a festive journey to the snowy climes of Norway. Here our two protagonists, Hannah and Kristine, meet on a 5 day Christmas break hoping to see the elusive northern lights but perhaps also to find something else…
Lise Gold is possibly one of the best descriptive writers out there. The celestial phenomenon of the mystical aurora borealis is so intricately described that I almost felt like I was there, witnessing the awe inspiring and spectacular light show. We are also treated to some fascinating Nordic folklore, discover the delights of Norwegian cuisine and are thoroughly immersed in the sensory tingling descriptions of the holiday season in this mystical land.
Other worldly, truly original and ice meltingly hot, Lise Gold has given her readers a truly sparkling gem of a novella that positively oozes holiday romance – also love the cookie recipes at the end, what a lovely touch.
