Richard Ellmann was Goldsmiths’ Professor at Oxford University and Woodruff Professor at Emory University. He achieved world fame for his biography of Joyce and wrote many scholarly and critical works, including two on Yeats.

With that said, I'm glad I own it (hence 3 stars instead of 1). There's a great selection of poetry and, for what it's worth, the biographical sketches are informative. Also, the essays, prefaces, letters, etc. from the poets in the back can be quite interesting.
If you're just looking for a good selection of poets and poems, this is great. If you're looking for something better than that, I suggest you look elsewhere.... then again, you can find all of these poems on line anyway.
